I completely disagree with your perspective on this. In numerous cases we, the members of the peanut gallery, support the bitcher’s position. Typically we collectively disagree when it is a stupid bitch; like this one.

An anonymous online forum like this is one of the few opportunities people have to speak their mind without risk of being demonized. I often disagree with comments made and expect others to disagree with mine. But, that’s what a healthy exchange looks like.
It’s all a good antidote to the “collective thinking” (which amounts to being told what to think) that is common at universities … and has trickled over into mass culture. Being able to openly discuss issues is far healthier for society than suppressing dissent. Otherwise humanity’s dark impulses bubble under the surface for a long time – only to emerge in harmful ways.
