Dear city of Halifax,
What a wonderfully dangerous city you have created for us this winter. It is dangerous for pedestrians, drivers, cyclists. The only people not affected are the bedridden and the dead. This city is a laughing stock of a joke. You certainly do not care for your population, because if you did you would not wait until it is so fucking DANGEROUS out there before you finally make a smart decision (albeit too fucking late by about a month and a half) to get rid of some of the snow banks and give us a few more lanes. Halifax you are a fucking joke. —Halfalaugh

  1. A REDUNDANCY?

“This city is a laughing stock of a joke.” Halfalaugh

How can something be “a laughing stock of a joke?” A laughing stock is generally understood to be an object or person of ridicule while a joke is a verbal construction designed to elicit a laugh. So how can a verbal construction be part of an object or person? Are not the two ontologically distinct? How then can the assertion, “This city is a laughing stock of a joke” possibly make sense? Either it is incoherent or it is a redundancy. Write back soon.

    A pleasure as always,

    Cheerio!

  2. ^^^ we await your return.

Now I have to go hide from those zombie Easter egg hunters. I hate this time of year!

  3. I like those colourful sugar eggs. But not the fake brand from Buyers Prescription Market. The good grocery store has them in bulk.
