This afternoon I discovered that A) I forgot change for the bus, B) there is nowhere to make change at my local bus depot (not even the vending machines…) and C) bus drivers don’t look kindly on people bearing bills. As I started walking away, slightly frustrated and humiliated, a woman offered to pay my fare. I was embarrassed by my situation, but I was blown away by the kind gesture. So thank you, fellow commuter, for both the fare and for boosting my faith in people. —Changeless Commuter
