Dear bronchitis/pneumonia,
Thank you for showing me what a big tough infection you are. The way you’ve make me cough every few minutes over the last week has been fun. Every time I cough my bladder spasms, pinching the catheter, making me feel raw inside, like I have broken glass in my cawk. It’s been 10 days since I’ve been in my basketball chair and hockey sled, because when I push, even a little, I get out of breath and hawk up a loogie.
While it’s been fun, please feel free to partake in the antibiotics I have been eating, and the Advair I’ve been huffing. It’s been a slice, but I’ll see you again next year, okay? —WheelieP

Aww wheelie 🙁
Have you asked your doctor about getting a pneumonia shot? Won’t help with the bronchitis, unfortunately, but it will prevent pneumonia.
I used to get pneumonia/bronchitis every fall, but since my shot two years ago (it lasts for five years) I’ve been pretty darn healthy. I once had mono and developed bronchitis at the same time and that was… absolutely awful. I never felt so terrible as I did then. I came home from a presentation and it took me a half hour to get from the Lacewood terminal up to my apartment on Caxton when I lived there. And anyone who knows the area knows it’s not even a 5 minute walk, normally. Another time my pneumonia was mistaken for ketoacidosis — that was the one time I walked into the ER in Kentville and they took me right away, drew a shitload of blood and had the results back within a half hour. DKA’s serious business and as I had been drunk for much of the previous weekend I was scared shitless (yay end of year university?).
In any event, feel tons better! *hugs*
🙁 Hope you feel better soon, dude.
Day 12-ish. The crud in my lungs has moved up to my upper areas, and is breaking up, like a glacier. Slowly but surely. The coughing is better, but being out of breath is the worst. I’m dying to skate or do some good pushing.
The doc said to gargle after the Advair, or I would get white spots in my mouth. At this point I’m thinking about not gargling just to see how they look…
Thanks for the wishes!
Pneumonia is a bitch !
I used to get it every winter, sometimes twice & pleurisy pnemonia is a real bitch ! !
take it easy, give yourself time to heal & hopefully you’ll be back to your old self before too long.
I pity the virus that fucks with our Wheelie. You need one of these:

Track that snotmanufacturing mo-fo down and get medieval on it’s ass.
Which is my silly-ass way of reiterating what everybody else has said >: )
“At this point I’m thinking about not gargling just to see how they look…”
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Wheelie, you are one of the only people in this entire world who can make my 43 day (and counting) depressive episode a little less daunting. <3
having shit like this is a bitch. we have granddaughter here, and she was sick for two days. fucking near killed us to watch her in agony. but he bright side dude, it doesn’t last forever, just seems like it.
oh, and if you do gargle, make sure it’s 40 or better proof, then who gives a fuck, right, one or two 40’s should do it daily, keep up for one week, and those little mo fo’s will be history. and you will be well preserved to boot.

Brilliant sis! Where DO you come up with these gems? Wheeliep, I can sure sympathize as I’ve been battling a bronchial problem myself lately. Not much fun for sure:(
Hope you are on the mend soon. It sucks being sick, ‘specially with the milder weather upon us after the seasonally forced hibernation.
Seb, for the last time, I won’t let you sissymaid for me.
Ever.
The guy from the CanadaGames wheelchair basketball team almost died.
You’re a class act, fucktard.
