Not surprising at all. I’ve been hearing rampant anti-Americanism from my peers pretty much since the time that they realized the existence of the United States. That’s what Canadians do. Yes, we are just as ignorant as the people of any other country.It is annoying, but at the same time, I’m entirely thankful for it. I despise being called a “worldly” or “open-minded” Canadian (even if I think I am). The generalization is just so goddamn condescending. We are human beings like anyone else. No deity breathed any kind of saintly air into the bodies of my countrymen.
