Confusion. It’s sad but true… What’s the driver going to do about your dead cat? With two down all ready one would think the rest of the street would get a clue about keeping their pets safe.
That’s my point as well, Kay. I don’t understand why people would let their cats out in the city. Even if you forget about the traffic, there’s always the risk of a cat sustaining serious injuries by dogs or other cats.
It’s not fair to keep animals in the city, imo… To them or us. I love cats and I’d feel really bad if I ran over somebody’s damn fool cat, even tho it would simply be an example of Darwinism in action if the stupid thing was on the road… If you’re going to keep domesticated animals, you have a lot of responsibility to care for them. It is dependent on you.
Would you let your kids play on the street where cars drive too? That scares me even more, w/if I’m driving and I get distracted just that one time, and there’s a kid on the road? Nightmare material…

Keep ’em in your own yard or home. tie them up outside.
That way the only way a driver could hit them would be to drive up on your lawn or deck.

You let the damn cat run the neighborhood, that’s YOUR PROBLEM…not mine, for making road pizza out of it. I’ve got more important things to do than worrying about some dead cat that the owners too lazy to care for properly.
my feeling runs with the sentiment of others on this one. why the hell do cat owners feel they can leave their cats out to run around the neighborhood all night without consequence. whereas i cant even leave my dog off the leash for a few minutes in the vast majority of places.
i hate to hear of any animals being injured or killed. but OP, if they were kept inside or fenced in as they are supposed to be…problem solved.
and fyi OP…not a good idea to let kids play in the road either.
