This isn’t survival of the fittest or smartest. Halifax is a dump that I apparently can’t afford to live in. My own fucking hometown. Guys are douchebags. Girls are bitches. The adults have no respect. I have nowhere else to go. Thanks Halifax for ruining my life one asshole at a time. Btw-no one knows how to drive here either. —Slumlord

Cheer up Eeyore, you could always move to Sackville!
Came to the wrong place for sympathy…
“Thanks Halifax for ruining my life one asshole at a time.” Slumlord
How many assholes do you have?
Sounds like you’re ruining your own life with all your negative whines. If you want change, get off your big bitching ass and do something.
come now people…
ya gotta admit Halifax has fuck all going for it.
You want to live somewhere that has something going for it, have at ‘er.
Bigger ain’t always better. Some of us like the way things are here.
I visited Halifax for the fist time last week, it is superrrrrrrr prettttttyyyyyy. But superrrrrrrrr expensive. lol.
No one knows how to drive, yet someone many of us manage to make it to work everyday via an automobile. Funny how that works.
YESSSS Thanks you!!
I agree. Most people here don’t know how to drive.
Halifax, Sackville, it’s all the same toilet!
As for the expensive part, super doesn’t even begin to describe it! I do all my shopping except for necessities outside of here. Mostly internationally considering it costs half price for the same goods! Even some packaged goods I started buying in quantities overseas!
The Halifax drivers are fine, it’s the ones from towns without multi-lane roads, pedestrians, and with a cultural acceptance of driving drunk that you’ve gotta worry about. (Ever wonder why Halifax traffic goes to crap whenever there’s a big event or on a long weekend?)
^ Yes that’s a big problem but I don’t think it’s the main culprit.
It’s an issue and a concern here the amount DUIs that take place. Not just alcohol, but I smell weed almost on a daily basis behind someone, even on the way to work. Someone who looks mainly like they operate heavy equipment for a living based on the equipment they’re carrying and truck they’re driving.
NS was voted twice on “Canada’s Worst Driver” to be the most dangerous place to drive in Canada. Not once but twice. I avoid a collision on a daily basis because for some reason, even in a 2 lane road, people think here that they have the right of way to the middle of the road and not pick a lane.
Also when changing lanes, they expect you to make way for them even when you’re side by side. They keep trying to get in to the extent they almost hit you.
They don’t know what a lot of the street signs mean, especially “yield”. they seem to confuse the meaning of “Yield” and “Stop”.
I avoid the highway these days because people have in general started using it as a city commute. meaning going 70 and 80 in a 100 or 110 zone then get pissed at you for passing them in the right lane when they refuse to clear the left lane! Not just drivers but cyclists and pedestrians as well. For some reason when there’s a completely usable sidewalk, pedestrians choose to walk on the side of the road!
Cyclists can’t seem to stay in the designated biking lanes. If you can’t ride a bike straight, don’t ride at all! I witness this driving to work daily!
not to mention all the come-from-aways to go to one of our many universities..
Then when they end up leaving, all the idiot tourists fuck with the traffic all summer.
Though it is better in summer (and I’m seeing it getting better already yet-again) because generally the only tourists who want to visit this shit-hole are older folks looking for ‘heritage and scenery’… so they’ve been driving a hell of a lot longer.
They just drive slow as fuck so as to not MISS anything.
Go to airport buy one way ticket to somewhere get on plane. See ya.
