  1. Yep, Its the same people whining about Sunday shopping who have gone to the movies, cafes, drugstores etc. No not me I would never go grocery shopping on sundays. Like the old bag who was caught on tape for the news at the Super store on Sunday. Her exscuse was that she was buying a plant so It wasn’t the same. I want to know what kind of plant she was smoking.

  2. ok so i lied …i’m talking again. I agree get over it! there has not been “Sunday No Shopping” for year either.

  3. The need for Medical staff and pharmacies is A LOT different than the need to go to the mall!!! People NEED medical and Pharmaceutical care, even on Sundays. It’s part of the job! (PS… that’s probably part of why they pay more than the beloved “mall jobs”!) No one goes into those professions expecting to work Mon-Fri, 9-5 … THAT is why you don’t hear them complain! There is no one on this earth that NEEDS to shop 7 days a week! No one will die if the mall doesn’t open! I respect everyone’s right to their own opinion on this issue… I just don’t think you can attempt to plea your case by comparing Medical staff working Sundays to people at the mall working Sundays! Next you’ll be arguing that teachers should work Sundays too… Nurses and Doctors do…. so teachers should too… and while we’re at it… why not the Premier? Shouldn’t he have to work Sundays? … No??? hahaha Why am I not surprised!

  4. That’s not the point. People have been using the excuse that Sunday is a “day of rest”. We all know that’s complete bull. If it was a “day of rest”, these people should speak up and demand that everyone take advantage of this day of rest. EVERYONE!

  5. Who the hell are you to tell anyone what does or doesn’t “need” to be open on sunday! I’m not going to go into the myriad of reasons why sunday shopping may actually be needed by many people because that’s not the point. The point is, you are trying to force your perception of need on the rest of the population. And using your logic, we’d only have essential services open on sundays which would mean no restaurants, few hotels, no golf courses, no park facilities, no marinas, no movie theatres, etc, etc, etc. Use your head.

  6. guess what?it’s been decided and there is no more arguments to listen to, because a court of law has decided that it is equal opportunity for EVERYONE to workbuild a bridge and get over it

  7. And who are you to tell me that I can’t open my store??? If I’m running a business and people want my goods/services, then who are you to dictate to me when I can and can’t open? Just because you don’t need it, doesn’t mean someone else doesn’t. Again, your anti-Sunday shopping argument is weak and baseless. Just like every other job in this world, if you don’t like it, you can always leave and find another. If you can’t live by the rules set, then tough shits.

  8. To put it simply, the only people who benefit from Sunday shopping, are the people who don’t work retail, ’cause if you do, guess what you’re workin’ it. I think we have a right to bitch! I can’t go out and enjoy the day shopping because I’m stuck listening to all of the “stay at home moms” telling me “how great it is to be able to go shopping with their family. While I get to kiss my three kids and husband goodbye on Sunday, only to have an exta day off during the week, to spend lonely while my children are in school and my husband is at work.So sorry if I’m not in agreement with your “family shopping day”. There were 6 days a week, 14 hours each day to do your shopping. I could see why it was so hard to find time to shop, when you don’t have to work!

  9. Either you like it or you don’t. If you don’t, then get another job. Only retail doesn’t work on Sundays. Even some gov workers (IT, Engineers, emergency services) work on Sundays. What is so hard about joining the rest of the world? You work on Sundays, so what, you get another day off. How about this for all you whiners: get an education or more skills and go find a job which you don’t have to work on Sundays. Good luck at finding that job, because everyone works on Sundays.

  10. the reason why people in retail deserve sunday off is because they get paid shit and dont even get tips. Sucks to be them. Also all their money goes to clothes when they work in a clothing store because they have to look good.

  11. To “right to bitch”. I’ve so often kissed my kids goodbye as i’ve headed off to work on a Sunday! GET OVER it retail workers. I’m a nurse and my husband is a cop!!! Sunday is our only option some weeks. Not all, but some, and love the convenience. If you’re not a student, get a real job. As students, you have an option…It’s worked in other provinces. Don’t work or take the additional dollar per hour. The stores only open at 10 or 12…plenty of time to party the night before and get to work on time the next day. Fuck off, I’ll shop if I want, go to church if I want, go to a bar if I wan’t. Screw retail hags and there day of rest. Wish I had one to count on..

  12. You’ve got not right to criticize nurses for making money. Face it, they’re more skilled and educated and contribute more so yeah, they get paid more. They also likely had to invest money and time into becoming a nurse while you didn’t.Yet, despite their investment and the value of the job nurses are suposed to be crapped on because they accept working sundays and you don’t want to?Make sense to anyone?
