why can’t things just get along? I have a mac, I have final cut (editing suite for mac) and I have a brand new super awesome hd harddrive camcorder from sony. should all be great, right? BUT NO! apparently sony decided that THIS incarnation of their camera could not possibly play with…well any editing suite I can find. unless I want to upgrade 500 bucks to the next generation of final cut, which has a loop hole that almost works well, I now have two very expensive pieces of garbage.

I made the same mistake a few years back with a Sony non mini-dv camcorder. Instead of using formats that, you know, video editors use, they make up their own bloody shitty software that does ‘everything for us’!I eventually found a workaround, but it was a fucking pain in the ass. Other than that though Sony makes solid cameras, I never had a problem with it since I bought it. Same goes for the 20 year old Hi8 Sony camcorder, works like new, even the battery.
