The rain and melting snow has made me aware that the recently paved path that cuts across The Commons has been built below grade. The path is consistently covered in puddles and often entire sections are submerged. Everyday I ride my bike across and if it has been raining get splashed. Also when we get freeze-thaw cycles it becomes a skating rink. Who needs the oval when you can skate on the path? —Bewildered Engineering Student

Survey the situaion, figure out exactly what’s neded (materials and personnel).
Write up an action plan, with cost and time estimates, submit it to council along with your offer to be the project lead.

You aren’t supposed to bike on the walking paths anyway, we didn’t pay to put bike lanes all around the commons so you could not use them and annoy and endanger pedestrians, to save yourself 30 seconds.

SHITD, the paths on the commons are marked as multi-use paths (i.e. cycling allowed) on HRM maps.
No, it’s a horrible point! I’d also like to add that there aren’t bike lanes all around the commons. There’s a single bike lane on Bell that only goes in one direction.
