Get on a bus on Robie. Two idiots are in the seat next to the door yammering at the driver. Two idiots are not “all there”. Disabled person gets on bus. Disabled person gets off on Spring Garden to go to work. Two idiots and bus driver make fun of disabled person saying disabled person’s drunk. Disabled person’s not drunk, you fucking ignorant assholes! Disabled person’s had an accident years ago which left disabled person very handicapped. Disabled person’s on the way to work. Something those two fuckheads know nothing about. —Don’t Ignore Ignorance

  1. Not much you can do about idiots – but you could have reported the driver. He may even have gotten a stern talking-to from his supervisor.

  2. Dr. Ivan says it all and I agree completely! Once you report a driver (or, as they call them, “Conductor”) it stays on their record for the rest of their remaining employment term and can follow them for the rest of their life. I think I’ve encountered this conductor and he’s quite a “Chatty Cathy”. Nothing like putting the lives of the passengers at risk, eh? Asshole.

  3. UGH. Should’ve said something to the jerkfaces!

Though, you have to be careful these days because it’s jerkfaces like that that are either packing or carrying a fucking knife.

    Ugh.

  4. Assholes. Do all us crippled freaks a favour next time, and tell them they’re one bad choice(their’s or someone else’s) away from ending up in an effing chair. See how funny they feel then.
    Assholes.
(and report them. That kind of dehumanizing and belittling shit has no place, except in a consensual relationship between two adults- hiYooooo)

  5. I have a driver that goes down Robie who ALWAYS seems to have some tool or chick standing up next to him chatting and taking up space. Of course, they sit in those seats. It’s really irritating, but I haven’t seen anything awful, just people sitting where they aren’t supposed to, and a driver who isn’t paying complete attention.

  6. Next time that disabled person gets on the bus, politely tell them what you witnessed and ask if they’d like to file a complaint with Metro Transit together.

  7. Metro Transit won’t do anything. The customer service people will basically call you a liar, claim it didn’t happen or refuse to believe you and it results in nothing. In the end the driver is going to be “correct” regardless.

But really, OP, you could have and should have said something. If they got pissed off at you then fuck them.

  8. Do not call the HRM office because supervisors do nothing. Drivers pretty much do what they want. If a chick is standing beside the driver ask her if she is horny.

  9. Metro Transit customer service is usually hit and miss, I find. There’s a few people who work there who are wonderful CSR-wise, then there’s that one bitch who, no matter what you call about, will tell you off and blame you. I’ve called maybe four times and got the bitch twice. So I stopped calling. The only time I’ve called since was because the 17 kept leaving SMU over 10 minutes early on a regular basis during the summer/fall detour last year. I got a really great guy who sympathized and the 17 never left smu early again 🙂
