a-fucking-greed. is it REALLY needed for you to take up what equals 3 people’s spot for one stroller? nope i don’t think so.especially not on the university buses…they’re crowded enough.and to the girl who used the bus as a moving van (her friend had a kid in a stroller as well) during rush hour the other day…you’re kidding me right?
Why does METRO TRANSIT allow fucking assholes on the bus? They kick my stroller or push it as they try to walk threw it like a fucking idiot instead of asking nicely for a little room, I appologize that i am on this bus which i must of missed the sign of “only inconciderate assholes who dont give a fuck about anyones situation but theirs aloud to ride.” All it takes is a simple “sorry, can i help you move this so i can get by?” instead of trying to climb over it in a huge huff.. fucking relax.i give you a dirty look because youre a fucking idiot huffing and puffing over a stroller.and yes.. it is REALLY needed for me to take up the room for three people.. did you REALLY need to get on that bus? Im sure you did.. just as i would need to.. piss off…
Yeah! And what about those old people with their fucking walkers? Ignorant pricks. Or those assholes in wheelchairs. Why do the rest of us have to put up with these people and their shit in our way? Why is it our problem that a few people have challenges that we don’t have to deal with? How about a little consideration for the young, ablebodied, unencumbered people?
Simply charge extra fare for the stroller and its occupant(s). At least that way if they are taking up more thnan 1 space they will be paying for it.
Ever notice something about these who bring strollers on the bus, they are big as HIPPOS. They should be the ones walking and lose some of that ass. If the stroller is in my way I just push it out of the way. Got that lalala.
Hey lalala did you fuck the driver to get the extra seats?
Hey lalala just have some more kids to bring with you on the bus in strollers and take up the whole bus this time. You only have them for money right.
Maybe Metro Transit should be designing busses with huge strollers in mind. It’s great that we have wheelchair access busses, but to be completely honest, I see more mothers with the huge strollers getting on the bus than people in chairs. I don’t see these grocery-carts-in-disguise going away any time soon, so maybe the design has to change so we can all be happy.
Just as it is your mode of transportation, it is most likely for the people with strollers. I don’t have children but I was helping a girlfriend with her stroller on the bus, and we tried to keep it out of the way but people were just offended to see it there. One person smacked the child in the face with her bag as she huffed by and didn’t even say sorry when I called her attention to it. Sure it’s a pain in the ass, but so is having to stand while a wheelchair takes up three places. Same difference to me. Besides, it’s an insurance liability if the child isn’t in a stroller. The way some of those bus drivers brake and speed through traffic, do you want to be trying to control your parcels, bag, baby/kid AND a stroller?
i agree with charging extra for strollers. put the money away into making enough room for everyone. lalala granted you needed to get on the bus…but so do other people and when the bus whizzes people who have been waiting for a half hour to catch a bus because there are strollers in spots where they could have stood it pisses us off.and you know what…we’re not all assholes, some of us in fact have changed our entire route so that we will not inconvenience you and will not take up the space that you need for your stroller. a fair number of us give up our seats to you so that you can sit next to your child, or so a small child can sit down. it’s not a huge deal. but when the bus driver is saying “move it to the back” and you just sit there with your stroller blocking the way it’s a little tough for someone to not be a little frustrated with you. we’ll keep you in mind if you keep us in mind too…
If you’re going to charge extra for strollers, then you also have to charge extra for wheelchairs, walkers used by the elderly, grocery bags, backpacks, and basically everything that takes up more space than the actual person of the paying passenger.
What about fat bottomed people who take one and a half seats? Do you charge them equally?
I was just on the bus today when 3 girls with 3 strollers all got on at one stop. Two of them went straight to the back because they could, and one stayed up front. People can’t always get to the back of the bus with a stroller because the buses are often already full. People with strollers can’t predict that they’re gonna have to take the bus and you’re gonna have to wait for another one “because” of them. It pisses me off far more when young people use a whole seat for their bag, or sit on the outside seat and don’t move over when the bus is filling up. If you weren’t in such a hurry you’d find that you generally can maneuver around the stroller as you’re getting on, unless of course YOU are over sized, or have a huge book bag on, or something with you that is going to take up more space than a regular sized person.
Yesterday I got on the bus, and there was an elderly lady with a walker sitting in the first seat opposite the driver. The walker pretty much blocked the aisle. Then, on the other side of the aisle, there was a big stroller. And I was wearing a large backpack full of groceries. It was a tight squeeze, took a bit of maneuvering, but after about 5-10 seconds, I got through the obstacle course. And lo! The world kept turning, and life went on. It’s just not that big a deal. Even if it happens every day, it’s just not that big a deal.
It is a big deal if you cut yourself on the ankle from something sharp on the wheel of the stroller and then the driver has to call an ambulance to take you to the hospital for stitches because it bled so much and then on top of that the ambulance bill arrives in the mail.
They can’t take into account that you are a haemophilliac to bleed that much due to brushing against a stroller to warrant ambulance is an extreme situation, one that you could get from getting on the bus or getting off, or hitting a bump or it being crowded and there is an abrupt stop. With so many situations where an injury of that magnitude occuring to a person that fragile then they need the Special Needs shuttle.
Why not just designate some buses for this sort of thing? i mean, by default i ALREADY consider the kneeling or access-a-bus are going to have more wheelchairs, walkers, people who need the seat more than me, whatever. I know some subway systems have cars set aside for people with big objects/walkers/strollers/whathaveyou- why couldn’t busing do the same? Some people may have to wait longer, but at least if you did choose to get on that designated bus, you know what you’re getting into…that said: if we start charging more for parcels and strollers, when does it stop? I saw this RIDICULOUSLY overweight guy on the other day- he was spilling over almost 2 full seats on a crowded rush hour bus. he couldn’t have been more than 35, but even though there were older people and a pregnant lady standing as the bus was crowded, he couldn’t or wouldn’t get up to move. and some poor lady had to squeeze herself into half a seat next to him……..so should we charge him more? I bet you anythign you’d have rights complaints if you tried….
It WASNT just a brush up against a stroller. There was something sharp sticking out of the wheel that cut me pretty bad..
So because you had a freak accident, every person who needs to get around with a small child should pay for it forever? Come on, Kitty. I’m sorry that happened to you, but I think your bitterness is a little over the top. If you get on the bus today and trip over the strap of a backpack on the floor of the bus, are you going to be a bitch to everyone on the bus with a backpack from now on?
Then it’s a faulty stroller or something was caught in it. Just like if an engineering student or people with geometry sets who place their bags near their feet with their compass point sticking out, or those sexy metal rulers (god I loved them). Typical stollers have plastic guards on the wheel spokes and brakes. which means that something defective with the stroller, or something got caught into the stroller. And how do you know it was the stroller? Did you see the object that you ran into? Did you stop and collected the proof that the object in question did in fact cause the injury?*pulling out The WHO cd*
I have a big stroller good for going for walks, and a second smaller one if I plan on taking the bus. The bus is PUBLIC transportation making it for everyone, so unfourtanetly everyone has to deal. But as I said parents can find ways to be more accomadating. Some strollers are big and ridiculous. However, those strollers are need in the winter, when the city doesn’t do a good job clearning the sidewalks that big wheels are needed to get over the snow.Anyways, sucks for everyone, it won’t change, smile and suck it up.
And if we’re gonna start charging extra for people who are taking up more than one seat, then I want to be charged half if I don’t get to sit down because of those people.
It appears you are in the midst of a Bad Guy Sandwich “People are stupid.” (On the ticker board thing)Lucky you!
Well I do like sandwiches!
Well Gimpy I think Kitty would have enough sense to know it was the stroller, you make it sound like its going to court. Miranda, how would you like to pay Kitty ambulance bill. Something might happen to you one day. I think Kitty has every right to be upset. Make sure you start roling your eyes now like you usually do.
Hey you2/kitty. God you’re dumb. All people have to do is click on the name under your comment to see that both kitty and you are really “get a voicebox”. God, didn’t any of you trolls learn anything from the Ginger debacle?
Miranda stop calling people dumb on here and get a life.
Miranda leave my wife alone. Stop calling her dumb, stop sending her harassing messages and stop calling her. We still dont know how you got our phone number. You are sick.
WTF…
Well, hello, User_105824. Haven’t we met before?OK, Kitty/U2Rweird/B/User_105824. I guess you’re new around here, so I’ll give you a heads-up. It is the epitome of bad bitchboard form to change your handle, and make posts in defence of your own posts while pretending to be someone else. It just isn’t done. If you insist on doing it, expect to be regularly and mercilessly flamed. Go ask Ginger.Now. Back to the topic. I am sorry about your injury, Kitty/U2Rweird/B/User_105824. Really. It sucks, and you have a right to be upset. You have every right to be pissed off, at the person responsible. You DO NOT have a right to be a bitch to every single person with a stroller on the bus.
There for a second I thought Fran had come back to us.
Anyone that says strollers shouldnt be allowed on busses is an idiot. But strollers are getting way too big! Not only are these stupid ‘Jeep’ brand plastic contraptions butt-ugly, they’re also super heavy and take up way too much space. I have a delux small stroller that does everything it needs; also it folds completely flat and weighs 11 pounds. This is what I take on the bus and if anyone has a problem with it they can fuck off.
