Tuesday, February 15th. Looking to hit the lakes to play some hockey with my son, who’s on break from school for two weeks (missed school time… that’s a whole other bitch just waiting to be told). Check the HRM website to make sure the lakes in Dartmouth are safe to skate on. Uhhhhh, what the fuck? Last updated January 24th? Three weeks ago? I do believe that conditions must have changed somewhat in that time. Meanwhile, Halifax and Cole Harbour were last checked February 14, and Bedford on February 7). How in the name of sweet fuck can the HRM website not provide up-to-date information on ice conditions within HRM, not just Halifax and Cole Harbour? We hear CONSTANTLY from all levels of government the benefits of physical activity. It’s all the more enjoyable when joined by our children. Only it’s not possible when we’re not supposed to venture out on the lakes if they’re not 21 cm thick. ARE THEY? —Rob

  1. I was thinking about something else when I read the title of this bitch.

So which is it? Strength or thickness?

  2. first politician: How can we cut costs?
second politician: Well, we already shaved the educational , medical, roads, etc. budgets about as much as we can, how about the little things that add up like exterminators, safety measures and the 25 year old scotch in our clubhouse?
first politician: Wha??? Cut the scotch?!
second politician: Ha Ha Ha! You should’ve seen the look on your face!
    first politician: good one!

  3. Ya, the title is a bit misleading 😉

OB, when I was young, the fire department did all the ice measurements. Give your local station a call, maybe they can help. – or – get an auger and check for yourself.

=) I just have to say it….condoms are like pantyhose, “one size fits all” – NOT.

  4. what’s the matter o.p., are you too good for that skating oval in halisucksdick? or are you just one of these assholes, that just have to find something to whine and cry about?
either way, you say there is another bitch coming, lord hold me, i think there is a revelation here someplace pertaining to you and the second coming. because the first time your daddy came, it spilled down his leg, and this one, won’t be much good either.

  5. Life Sucks the OP can’t use the oval right now because it’s closed to the public.

Perhaps you’ve heard, there’s this sporting event taking place in town right now…

  6. yeah hgl, i know it is being used by those folks, but what about before that. did they ever try it out. it looks like it mght be a fun place, if you get rid of all those little fucks there. and some of the bigger ones too. might partake of it after those games are over.

  7. zed makes a good point.

However, requiring magnum condoms usually suggests one is not as thin as a pencil.

Or i would imagine…I guess. My point: magnum condoms do not deserve a “:(“

Now I’m blushing, guys. Thanks for that.

  8. Why don’t you put your big boy pants on, get an axe or an auger, and check yourself. Another good indicator; if there are people out skating, not screaming for help drowning in holes broke through the ice, you are pretty safe. Now this might be a biiiig stretch for you, but if the ice has been measured to your governements satisfaction in Cole Harbour 2 days ago, Dartmouth is probably Ok too.

  9. Thanks Painey. It’s inventory week @ DunderMifflin and to paraphrase Winnie:
“Never in the field of human endeavor have so few been fucked about by so many for so little reason”
Will your boyo lend me his gun? >; )

  10. Throw a fat person out on the ice. If it holds, it’s safe for a truck. Take a shovel to clear off the ice, or head to Lake Banook….residents use snow blowers to clear areas to skate.

  11. I friggin forgot to add.
If you do cut a hole in the ice, to measure the thickness or to fish, mark it so nobody falls in.

Feeing a little ‘postal’, today Ivan?
