Stop charging $80-$300 for your used dresser! It’s USED. It’s OLD. Even if it’s not old, it’s still USED. You desperatly want it gone but yet you expect people to pay an arm and a leg for it. Frig off somewhere.

  1. If you don’t like the price, don’t buy it. Take your cheap broke ass to the Sally Ann and buy one of their $20 dressers. Or go lurk around the backs of restaurants until you’ve collected up enough milk crates that you can lash together to make a dresser for yourself.

  2. It’s call free markey. They’re free to ask whatever they like and you’re free to say yes or no.

  3. Bro, your “wisdom” leaves me totally dumbfounded. What would we ever do without you to state the obvious?

  4. I agree with the OP…this relates to the other bitch about apartment hunting. If your ad is useless to pretty much everyone who’s shopping for a certain thing, it just wastes everyone’s space and time.

  5. Although at the same time, IF the furniture’s good quality and in good condition, I think people should be justified in charging more. It’s not like it’s used underwear or something.

  6. Maybe it’s antique? Solid wood? Solid wood is hard to get in a dresser these days. And if it’s used and cheap it screams bedbugs to me.

  7. Depends on the dresser. Have you actually seen the dresser? It’s probably worth that much. Ever see Antiques Roadshow and what dressers go for there (yes, extremely rare, but still).

Don’t like it, don’t buy it, or better yet, make an offer.

  8. Ditto on the solid wood thing. 300 bucks for an oak chifferobe? 80 for a solid pine with metal hardware for the runners? Sounds good to me. I just went on Kijiji and you can get some steals.

  9. Get a fucking laundry basket and fold your cloths in that. If you think a dresser is essential to live than you’ve clearly never actually been broke.

  10. What a fucked up thing to say fizz…. it’s right up there with, “if you don’t like [getting fucked over or treated badly] then leave”. Just because someone doesn’t want to pay top dollar for used furniture it doesn’t mean they’re destitute, poor or even that they should be. It means they’re not interested in getting ripped off! Smarten up!

  11. I didn’t assume the OP was poor because they don’t want to pay top dollar for used furniture, kay. I assumed the OP was poor because they described themselves as “Broke and in Need”.

  12. LOL. You must be new fizz. Kay is basically background noise – irrelevant and something that unfortunatly never goes away.

  13. go on kijiji and type in an amount your willing to pay. you will then get a list of avail ones to choose from.

  14. Shit, go to fucking wallymart man…who cares if one person is charging what they want for something they own. It’s their right.

  15. Buy a cheap, shitty, used one, slap a coat of paint or varnish on it, put on some fancy new knobs and voila, you got more than you paid for.
Unless you just want a place to put your clothes, in which case save yourself the effort.

  16. Like a few posters mentioned: it’s probably an antique. My parents have a Louis XIV chair with authentic horse hair stuffing from the actual days of Louis XIV….it might just be an “old chair” but it’s worth A LOT of money.

The older a piece of furniture is, generally, the more it’ll be worth (my parents also have tons of other antiques — they rarely buy anything “new” and the value of the pieces they have just keeps going up and up and yes, they’re old pieces).

    OP sounds dumb.

  17. As far as the ‘gumming up the reasonable price ads with exorbitant price ones’ aspect of this bitch (which is the only part I say is halfway valid)…

Sort by price. (as touched on by JMO)

…and wow, kay…honest mistake, but a close re-reading of the bitch and comments is called for before unleashing a “What a fucked up thing to say” attack.

  18. Someone went on Kijiji and got some steals? Is that why I haven’t been able to sell my car for $5000?

Let’s be honest, NS is the cheapest province and they don’t want to pay anything, and I do agree with the OP on a certain level. Sometime, people ask for waaaayyy too much for some stuff.. I found a leather couch on Kijiji for $1500.. I bought the same exact one at the brick for $750. Was on sale mind you, but originally it was $1500. The person on Kijiji bought it and used it for a year, and they want to resell for full value, with god knows what was done to it.. at least put it for $750 like what the store is doing!
