To the shitsmear that stole my laptop this Sunday, you got balls kid, walking into my house and walking off with my Dell in broad daylight. I’m not that pissed about the hardware itself (it’s old and kinda broken, as you’ll find out), it’s the—years—of graphic design work and photos that are on the harddrive that I’m missing, and that’s stuff that can’t be replaced. You’ll learn soon enough though. Karma has a MASSIVE hate-boner for cunts like you, and because of this you’re gonna get fucked by it. Hard. —Drawin in the Dark

  1. I’ve always sort of wondered about the whole karmic wheel thing. If the perpetrator of an offense is going to get fucked hard by karma for the shitty thing they did, does that mean that the person on the receiving end of current shitty thing is simply paying a karmic debt for some shit they perpetrated in their past?

  2. who the hell stores important data in only one spot these days?
with all the storage options available for dirt cheap…
I guess you don’t really take your photos and designs all that seriously.

  3. Sorry to hear about your loss, OB. It truly sucks that some slimey fuck would do this to you. Hope you can somehow get your shit back. But if not, here are 3 words that you’d do well to remember for the future….External. Hard. Drive.

  4. i agree with Koda — and if you have ‘years’ of work on your computer…. back that shit UP!

    Also: lock your fucking door.

  5. Karma doesn’t give a damn about you or your stupid not backed up computer. She is on maternity leave from WWE.

  6. As a graphic designer, I am fucking appalled that you didn’t have the brain cells to save your portfolio on a thumb or external drive. Stupid is as stupid does.

  7. and she’s one angry sonofabiatch…

I may, depending on the date/time and duration of notice provided…
    and I can’t guarantee I won’t get hammered the night before…
    and/or the morning of….
    and/or during…

  8. yeah.. I don’t have anything of great importance on my computer except my vast music collection… and that’s fucking backed up.

    Lesson learned OP.

  9. Too bad about your luck, but you need to lock your doors everywhere and everytime. As Ian Hunter once said ‘Once bitten twice shy babe’.

  10. OB, of course you had everything backed up like any logical person would, right? Maybe next time learn to lock your doors.

  11. Isn’t Karma a Chameleon? That’s right, I went there.

OB one important piece of advice – LOCK YOUR FUCKING DOORS.

  12. So, OB would have been well served to have a backup … particularly if the laptop is ‘old and kinda broken’ … lesson learned the hard way. But it still doesn’t make it okay that some ass wipe stole it. Karma may come through … but nothing in life has guarantees … at least report it stolen. If not because of the value of the hardware … at least in an attempt to get your design work and pictures back.

And, OB, if you don’t wanna backup to USB or other external storage … use cloud storage.

  13. i’m kind of wondering how he could just walk into your home, and swipe it? never heard of fucking locking doors and windows?

  14. If you use Windows, Microsoft offers a free program on their website called SyncToy with which you can set up some folders on your HD to back up whenever you plug your external drive in. Do what I do, back up all bank statements, online receipts, photos of all your valuables including the serial numbers etc onto an external hard drive and keep it in a fireproof lockbox. Then you’re covered in case of theft and fire!

  15. OB here,

I wasn’t the last person to leave my house, and when I left I did lock the door, so whoever left last didn’t. No one can remember if they did or not, so they’re all dumb motherfuckers in my books.

Yes, I do have a backup on an external drive, I’m not an idiot. However I don’t know if everything is there, and there are somethings I know aren’t which I won’t be able to get back.

I do have house insurance, I’m weighing up the benifit of paying the deductable vs just buying a cheap laptop.

    And yes. Hate-boner.
