What is with every second home displaying a giant star on the house? Is this a religious symbol? Seriously… it looks so tacky. Leave the Christmas decorations for Christmas and have some class Nova Scotia. —Star hater

  4. I haven’t noticed many stars of david around, only tin 5-point stars that were sold at every home decor store a couple of years ago. I don’t think they have any thing to do religion, just poelpe tryin’ to be trendy.

  8. yea i saw those everywhere when i took the train to Halifax from TO. I asked like 20 Haligonians and half of them looked at me like I was crazy; never did get a full explanation; they’re kinda cool 🙂

    It’s annoying.

  14. They aren’t only in Halifax..
    when i went back home to Newfoundland for a visit i noticed there were barn stars on every freakin house that we passed. Its just a trend now, don’t be hatin’ 🙂

  19. How is seeing, or not seeing, something on the side of a house related to one’s mental state? I can see saying “If you haven’t seen one, you must be blind” but to call someone retarded because they haven’t seen one? Seems an odd comparison.
