To all of the delusional women out there: Contrary to popular belief, most men WON’T fuck just anything. We have standards too, and many of us can afford to be a bit picky.
Just batting your eye lashes at us isn’t gonna get us to buy you dinner, a car, et cetera. If you have nothing to bring to the table yourself. If you (a) have no job, (b) are dumb and lazy, (c) are not a nice person and (d) not my type, then I will not date you. Call me shallow all you want for “d”. You can attempt to flirt with me, but if your physical appearance does nothing for me, I won’t reciprocate the sentiment. On the other hand if you’re hot as fuck, but any of the other above attributes apply to you—still no deal. I work hard, I’m educated and I’ve been told I’m a decent and good-looking guy many times.
How many times have I seen this: When a woman rejects a man, she gets praised. “Good for you, girl! You can do better than him.” But when a man rejects a woman, he gets the “You fucking idiot, what’s wrong with her?!” while she gets the “Oh, forget about him…you can do sooo much better than that asshole!” It’s happened to me and many of my buddies and male relatives. It doesn’t make any fucking sense!
Well, I have news for you fools. Women are not the only ones with standards! Any of you girls out there need to realize that not every man is going to fall for you. And if you get turned down by one, perhaps you should take a look in the mirror instead of cursing the “asshole” who doesn’t want you. —From the Man’s Point of View

Spot on target OP. Human attraction is pure alchemy; more art than science with a bucketoad of pure blind luck thrown in for good measure. The most effective errogenous zone is the human brain.
Does *everyone* in this city have a massive chip on their shoulder when it comes to dating?
I tentatively agree with this Bitch.
I’ve personally met a few women who, for lack of a better word, are dumb… as a post. BUT, they’re kinda pretty, which apparently makes them desirable and able to dish out judgements on men as they see fit. If they’re Hawt, then they get first pick of the litter when it come to dating.
Also, someone make sure wogdog doesn’t read this. I think she may have some strong words for the OB.
Wogslag’s wretched scribblings are cribbed from “Valerie Solanis’ S.C.U.M. Manifesto For Dummies”. Considering how infantile the original source material was, that’s really lowering the bar.
No chip here.. I am in LOVEEEEEE and want to sing it from mountain tops. Or on LTWWB.
Amen OP 🙂 Too many of those women running around this town 🙂
Completely agree with OP and Captain.
Shas’la, depending on who you ask, if you ask women, they’ll give you a different answer.
If you ask men, you’ll probably get the same answer as this post. In fact I actually heard this same thing from many guys from here and guys who are visiting.
speak for yourself o.p., if it walks, talks, breathes, and is female, then i’ll do her. but the other real thing with me, is that they have to be human, or as close as you can get. apes and chimps aside. gorilla of my dreams, where are you? shit o.p., i’ll even do woggie.
Bravo Zulu, Secret Agent. That’s like finding 2 twenties a block apart on Coburg AND seeing a U.S.M.C. V-22 Osprey flying over the peninsula on a rainy Friday afternoon.
(Happened to me once, so I know it feels pretty damned good)
I agree with this bitch 100%. It’s never a bad thing to have standards, OP.
Ahhh the Osprey…yet another cutting edge aircraft concept devised by Canada, poo-pooed by the gov’t, moth-balled, then some 30+ years later, the bloody Yanks go, “Oh Hey, look at this new aircraft we just made!” (Hmph! They get ALL the toys!)

So you’re ok with one of dumb or lazy, but not both?
I’m pretty sure I know what you mean by dumb as well… but there are many different kinds of smart.
well there’s dumb and then “i didn’t know the titanic thing really happened, i thought it was just a love story”
LOL Vastie – the last time I was at the Aviation Museum in Ottawa (15 years ago), the most intriguing stuff was all piled in at the back behind barriers, but up on the mezzanine level they had stations where you could manipulate the CCTV and get a look at what wasn’t on display. The truncated fuselage of the Dynavert was tucked away, all lonely and neglected. It would be cool if someone could re-assemble it for a static display.

The American Osprey is a joke, it looks pretty and it makes a really cool VIP toy, but under combat conditions it’s a complete fialure. More than a couple of deaths.

At the risk of sounding like a “stupid female” OP is bitching about but,I don’t understand what all the photos are supposed to represent. What is GANGHAM STYLE?
OP’s allowed to have certain standards when choosing a female.Yes female’s do so men can too….But I PITTY THE FOO who calls me a hoe when I’m sitting alone at the bar at *’s corner having a beer.
Don’t worry Boru, not knowing what gangnam style is doesn’t make you unintelligent. It makes you, uhhh… un-popcultured? I guess. I don’t want to call it ‘popular’ culture tho.
It’s okay to be left out of the loop on this one 😛
i had to google it, boru. the keptin is korrect^^
I can’t post youtube vids from this computer so, maybe someone else can step up and show you what it’s about.
It’s a viral music video by a Korean artist, of all people, named Psy. It’s a crazy, whacky dance song sung done completely in Korean, with the exception of maybe 1 or 2 lines. The video shows him doing this crazy “horse riding” dance? (not sure how else to describe it), with popular Korean celebrities, (popular in Korea, anyway.)
The song has become a HUGE viral hit. He’s made appearances all over the world and on TV and the song was only released this past July!
Gangnam is a district in Seoul, Korea equivilant to Beverly Hills. Apparently people from Gangnam district, although well off and trendy, don’t really go around flaunting it, (what a refreshing change), but apparently the people who THINK that they are from that lifestyle or WANT to be from that lifestyle are the ones that go around acting like fools. Posers, if you will. Psy is poking fun at these people in this song.
So, anybody sporting the latest and greatest trends, trying just a little too hard to look or act cool, etc, etc, is said to be Gangnam Style.
At least, this is what I’ve read.
I personally think the whole craze is a bit ridiculous, so naturally I had to make it my profile picture! lol
Aside from not understanding Korean, the song does get stuck in your head and I think the video is fairly funny in places too.
The SNL Skit a couple weeks ago didn’t make sense to me either until I broke down and watched the video… it’s at over 303 million hits now so you know it’s not going away any time soon.

There’s absolutely no shame in having a drink solo or with not knowing what gangham style is whatsoever Boru, as far as I’m concerned. I don’t know what it is either 🙁
As for OP, amen.
My favorite is the “what are you, gay?” Not that there’s anything wrong with being gay but for someone to imply that if you don’t find them desirable then you must be gay is just above and beyond arrogant not to mention an obvious attempt to put me down to make herself feel better.
And they say the male ego is fragile.
Last time I was in Montreal we were at a club and a girl tried to dance with a friend of mine or flirt with him or something, and he had a girlfriend back home so he let her know he wasn’t interested. She gave him the, “what are you gay?” He was like, “yeah, see that guy over there?” pointing to another friend of mine “that’s my boyfriend” of course my other buddy had no idea what they were saying and just smiled and waved. Hilarious. I would have handled it differently, people like that don’t deserve to have their feelings spared.
“what are you, gay?” – reply – “what are you, the alternative?”
Lolz – I thought that Gangnam was some sort of anime ;P
Going for a bike ride in a bit, any takers?
Hugo What do you ride?
Boru: The ladies!
Ahhhhh yea
xox
I think it stems from women being offered penis, in one form or another, on a daily basis, for centuries. Men, on the other hand, have generally become accustomed to having to work for a female’s affections (Disclaimer: There are exceptions to this. I’m speaking on general terms).
Attractive women internalize rejection, because there are other men out there who are throwing themselves at them.
I don’t believe men with sleep with anything. At least, I would hope not lol
Captain Well it’s a good thing I’m no lady.
NurseHezz I imagine that there are some men and women that would bed anything.
My toys are my avatar Boru.
Captain – I seem to be haveing a bit of a problem finding that Rocket Scientist, so for now my bike will have to do 😉
Good night all, I’m off 🙂

Yes Boru, There are whores & manwhores for sure
Hugo Nice toy’s…Ride safe.
Alittle cool outside,dress warm.
I’m jealous. I never learned how to drive a bicycle.
Hezz Please explain?..”Attractive women internalize rejection, because there are other men out there who are throwing themselves at them”.
I’m having the same trouble Hugo. I just hope we don’t end up competing for the same lucky lady!
Boru,
Many women who are (what society has deemed to be) beautiful, and have been told all of their lives they are beautiful, develop (sometimes subconsciously) the idea that they can have any man they want and believe that every man finds them attractive. When a man suddenly turns them down, they take it much more personal than the “average” or “below average” looking female. They find it hard to wrap their head around it, and wonder how it is possible that this guy doesn’t find them attractive.
Maybe ‘internalize’ is the wrong choice of word.
‘Night Hugo!
CLASS, OR ARE All STANDARDS RANDOM?
“Human attraction is pure alchemy, more than science with a bucketload of pure blind luck thrown in for good measure.” (Ivan Sonofabitch 09/28, 11:24AM)
Ivan’s comment opened the discussion on “Standards are a two-way street” and Montrealman has been reflecting, in a non-adverserial way, on the content of his thought. On Ivan’s reading human attraction appears to be pretty well random, pure chance, a combination of alchemy and blind luck. But is this as far as we can go? Is there nothing more that can be said?
I’m going to suggest what will be perhaps an unpopular alternative, unpopular because it violates a sacred belief on Bitch that we’re all the same, that we are all equal and that those who disagree are to be charged with the social sin of “elitism.” Nevertheless I’m claiming that we are not all the same, that we are not all equal. Indeed, I’m going to suggest that the basis of human attraction is a broadly-conceived notion of class. After all is said and done class is the essential criterion for human attraction. So what do I mean by class?
What I don’t mean is class is any rigid, narrowly economic, academic or even social sense of class but, at the same time, they are not to be dismissed. What I mean is basically synonymous with what the poster called “standards.” But what are standards? The Concise Oxford Dictionary gives a standard as something “possessing a degree of excellence for a particular purpose” and, where the particular purpose here is male-female attraction, what exactly is the content of that “degree of excellence?” In very general terms I would say it resides in the possession of certain class markers. What are these markers?
Broadly speaking, such markers consist – in addition to similarities in background in economic standing, academic achievement, physical attractiveness and shared interests – of those qualities of personality which might transcend such background narrowly conceived but, and this is important, those qualities of personality are of comparable sorts. Personality, in other words, itself class-defined. What amounts to “personality” for one class need not – indeed, probably would not – count as “personality in another class. My point, in effect, is that like attracts like and “like,” more or less, means class.
A pleasure as always.
Cheerio!
Captain She would be a lucky lady
MM, I have to say, I am in awe at the limitless boundaries of your knowledge. Seriously. People can agree or disagree with the content of your posts, but i’m convinced…You’re a walking encyclopedia. I enjoy reading them, regardless of how I feel about them.
Hezz Again I agree with you.MM does have a way of (I will only speak for myself) baffling me with bullshit. I find he he can be somewhat of a bore, maybe due to my not always comprehending what MM is saying but,I do like a man with a man.
Does anyone know of a decent place to eat near downtown Dart.?I’m starving.
I’m probably too late, but have you gone to Celtic Corner on Alderney Drive? Good spot!
Not to worry Boru, I’ve never heard of Gangnam style either.
I thought this bitch was about standard transmissions at first.
Can’t comment as I have never been in the position to turn down a very attractive lady. Yes, most guys will try to nail pretty much anything. The exceptions are those rich or attractive and have ladies lined up. They’re the ones with “standards”.
NurseHezz I’ve been going there on Saturday evenings for 2 draft while at the bar( I assume a bartender will assist me if any guy bother’s me and to watch my drink while I’m in the washroom(I’m alone))…..Anyway…It was too late to eat there this evening. But I do appreciate your suggestion. I ended up ordering a shitty pizza, but it filled the void.

Why thank you NurseHezz for your kind thoughts. However I must demur in respect to your comment that I am a “walking enclyclopedia” which is, after all, merely a compendium of factual information or simple descriptive knowledge. I make no claim to being such a compendium. However, I believe I can be found at a higher level, that involving understanding which, as you know, involves organized knowledge and is most usually to be found in philosophical pursuits. But thanks anyway.
As a footnote to my “Class, Or Are All Standards Random?” I would like to clarify a particular point. In respect to male-female attraction a primary distinction should be made between instinctual or hormonal attraction and attraction based on class. The first may well transcend class lines – one thinks of the higher class male hitting the bars for a bit of poon, for example – but apart from that I think that all male-female attraction of a more substantial nature rests on class affiliation. Such affiliation might be broad-spectrum, i.e., involving those from the upper-middle and lower middle classes, but the attraction still comes down to class. I will, of course, debate my hypothesis with all coherent objectors.
: Boru 1014 (9:00PM)
Your reference to my “baffling me with bullshit” is a common epistemological error. You see, Boru, such “bullshit” is only bullshit to you. To me, of course, it is not bullshit but quite comprehensible, even eloquent at times. Your error consists in equating your unsupported claim that it is bullshit with its actually being so, a claim which must be demonstrated and not simply asserted. However, you mustn’t feel badly since it is a common error, particularly on this site.

OB…unfortunately I have noticed (since I stopped drinking alcohol) that unescorted aka single men of all types, become less & less choosey the higher their level of intoxication becomes.
The only good things about this is it causes any sane woman to be turned off by obvious signs of inebriation…. & the crazies are out of luck when the level of intoxication reaches the point of unconsciousness. Which only gives the whackjobs a narrow window to get buddy to drag them home !
So lets encourage over serving, & instead of disapprorving of it . So as our fellow mans level of stupidity increases with their alcohol consumption, they stand a better chance of passing out & not waking up with a coyote trap on their arm !
(coyote trap – you know, rather chew your arm off than wake her in the morning as you try to escape ! ! !)
MM **GENERALIZATION**
*I HATE to be judged so I live my life trying very hard not to judge other’s.This is not how I feel*
Some people see women with tattoo’s and think they are “whorish, trashy, etc “or “down to earth”due to the tattoo’s she has. Some see a woman with a tattoo(a well dressed woman) and presume she must not be a “Miss Priss” or she must be from a poor or middle class family.
MM In a preceding post on another Bitch, you mentioned your wifes’ spider web tattoo she has, on the back of her neck. Is your wife a “Miss Priss” or is she not afraid to say shit when she has a mouthful? Is your wife of a “lower class” than yourself MM? Just wondering.

Good afternoon Boru. It appears that certain misconceptions of yours should be cleared up immediately. The first is your reference to a “generalization” of mine.
I wasn’t trying to judge you “as a person” but simply taking issue with your claim that my posts amounted to “bullshit.” You should never confound the two. I think the second is legitimate but not, excepting in extreme circumstances, the first. Thinking about “generalizations” at another (philosophical) level, it seems to me that they are very similar to “concepts” and concepts are that on the basis of which people can think at all. If “knowledge” consisted solely of individual and ungeneralizable particulars, all thought would be paralyzed. I’m sure you agree with this.
You refer to “my wife’s tattoo” in a post of a considerable time ago. You wouldn’t be “fishing” by any chance, would you? In any case it never existed. It was, I thought, a huge joke. Can you imagine me associating with any female who was tattooed? Which raises another point. Tattoos can be acceptable for females below a certain age – say 21, maybe 25 tops – but after that they indicate a dissolute character, probably an alcoholic or one on drugs. I’m sure you agree. In males I think for the most part that tattoos betoken a time during which they were blind, knee-walking drunk and being tattooed by a fat greasy pig wearing a stained singlet in a dingy parlour with one weak light bulb dangling from the ceiling at the wrong end of Barrington Street. As with the female, very low class. I’m sure you agree with that as well.
Don’t hesitate to write if you are experiencing any further conceptual difficulties.

MM My mistake,I was not accusing you of generalizing women with tattoo’s
but stating I was genalizing…I then tried to explain that I was in no way judging women with tattoo’s.I was trying to ask you how or why you are married to a woman of a “lower class” than you say you belong to yourself. No I didn’t go fishing…my memory does work for me, every now and again.
Noone should be judged because of how they look. Not that long ago people would cross the street to avoid me.I gotta say I will never forget how much that hurt…So I would never do it to someone else.

: Boru 1014 (6:38PM)
Boru, don’t sound like Woggie. I never said that my wife belonged to a lower class than me. I just said that she never had a tattoo although the more I think about it the more arousing the thought becomes. And I don’t judge anyone by how they look but, on second thought, maybe I do. My wife’s looks are movie-star quality – I’m not kidding – and I have only what I suppose is a very conventional male estimate of female beauty. Maybe I did marry her for her looks. Sometimes I feel shallow. Anyway, other women on meeting her are quite taken aback at her beauty. As I say I’m not kidding. It is one of my favourite past-times to watch the expression on their faces when they meet her. But you must rest assured that I would never cross the street to avoid you. Sleep tight.

MM I wrongfully remembered you saying your wife had a tattoo then wondered why you married her, unless she got it after you were wed.You admit to becoming aroused at the thought of your wife having a tattoo;is the thought of having sex with that woman(tattooed wife) sexually attractive to you due to what you would consider her “lower class”?
You wouldn’t avoid me by crossing the street, why? You don’t know what I look like,I could be the most ugly woman in Halifax.

Boru, you must read my post of 09/29, 12:29PM) over again. I did, in fact, say that my wife had a tattoo but I was joking. (The joke did not appear in the text but I thought it was hilarious.) So yes, I did say that she had a tattoo – I imagined it as a large spider’s web on the side of her neck – but no, she doesn’t actually have one. So the question as to whether I consider her “low class” as a consequence is incoherent since actually having a tattoo is required for females over a certain age to be low class in my estimation. It is not a deal-breaker but it certainly factors in strongly. You do understand that, don’t you Boru?
I would never avoid you by crossing the street because I know that you are a sweet, sensitive girl who has strong feelings – possibly lustful – for me and I never cross the street to avoid females who have strong lustful feelings for me. It’s just not on.
: wogdog (09/30, 1:39AM)
Woggie, you must always provide full citation for your attributions. You claim that I said, “As with the female, very low class.” See my post of 09/29, 12:29PM, the only possible reference. “As with the female, very low class” does not appear. You do see that, don’t you Woggie?
Something tells me that you are beginning to have strong feelings for me as well, Woggie. Is it just lust, or is it something more elevated? In case it is the former, you must try to get more rest if you hope to fully enjoy my favours.

Ok, I have to ask. So, MM, if a female gets a tattoo at, say, 20…at what age does she magically become “dissolute” and “low class”? I ask this because, as we all know, tattoos are quite permanent. So is it fair to say, according to your standards, that a young woman who inks herself will be labeled as a drunk/junkie/dissolute/lower class woman once she hits 26?
Just curious
Guess I’m not theonly one who read your posting wrong. You need to learn to read your own drivel. You’re an idiot MM

Well NurseHezz, in general terms I would have to say yes. You must remember that a female getting a tattoo, even at a young age, indicates a certain moral laxity, an inclination if not the actual act of descending the “ladder of virtue,” if you will. There are certain mitigating factors, of course. One thinks of the picture portrayed in the tattoo which may reflect varying degrees of moral turpitude, the verse (if applicable) varying degrees of obscenity, and the location varying degrees of lasciviousness but, generally speaking, the tattooed female is, quite literally, a “marked woman.”
Of course my knowledge in this regard is extremely limited as I have never known a tattooed woman. I do recall seeing some in the circus, however, but I was never introduced. I would appreciate your input, if any, in this regard, so that we might work together to formulate coherent criteria in terms of the moral variability contained in the female tattoo.
: wogdog (1:39PM)
It is true Woggie, that both you and Boru have read my posts wrongly and, I believe, for the same reason. You were both distracted by your lustful feelings for me. You must try to keep a clear head in future.

Cheerio!
Hezz Again you read my mind…That’s what I was trying to ask MM. 🙂
Thank you
I can’t say that I agree with your perspective, that a woman who is tattooed lacks morals…This would be “judging a book by its cover”, so to speak. For example, I have an aunt who has been with one man, and one man only, for the past 40+ years. She decided to get a tattoo on her 60th birthday, a hummingbird on her ankle. She’s far from immoral. Also, what about the mother who, tragically lost a child, as is the case with my best friend? She had a tattoo of her son’s name and the dates of his birth and death tattooed on her shoulder, in his memory. I wouldn’t say this is a reflection of her character or morals.
Some people, both men and women, view the body as a canvass, and tattooing as the art.
NurseHezz I totally agree with you.I have a couple friends who,in their younger days were prostitutes who sold themselves on the street.Yes, prostitution can be illegal but,I’ve known these women for years,I know they are “good people” who made wrong choices during streeful times in their lives. This is kind of related to MM’s opinion that all older women with tattoos are of a “lower class”,I am not implying that women got tattoos because ei,they had to feed their children.People see a prostitute and assume they’re immoral, which can’t be farther from the truth,in some cases anyway.
I realize I kinda changed the subject.
we drive the train off the rails all the time, boru
You know, we talk a lot about how society has run off the rails, how we’re going to hell in a handcart, how we’ve forgotten how to behave in public and how to treat each other. About how there are no heroes anymore

“Winston Churchill’s mother, Lady Randolph Churchill, had a snake tattooed on her wrist.
It became fashionable in the late 19th and early 20th centuries for aristocrats, including women, to be tattooed. At the time, tattooing was very expensive and people paid large sums for their designs. ” – Royal Museums Greenwich.
King George V had himself inked with the ‘Cross of Jerusalem’
During a visit to Japan he also received a dragon on the forearm from the needles of Hori Chiyo, an acclaimed tattoo master. George’s sons, the Dukes of Clarence and York were also tattooed in Japan while serving in the British Admiralty, solidifying what would become a family tradition.
Taking their sartorial lead from the British Court, where Edward VII followed George V’s lead in getting tattooed; King Frederick IX of Denmark, the King of Romania, Kaiser Wilhelm II, King Alexander of Yugoslavia and even Tsar Nicholas II of Russia, all sported tattoos, many of them elaborate and ornate renditions of the Royal Coat of Arms or the Royal Family Crest. King Alfonso XIII of modern Spain also had a tattoo.
Aside from her consort Prince Albert, there are persistent rumours that Queen Victoria had a small tattoo in an undisclosed ‘intimate’ location; Denmark’s King Frederick was filmed showing his tattoos taken as a young sailor.
Theodore Roosevelt. The 32nd president of the United States proudly bore a tattoo image of his family crest across his chest.
Caroline Kennedy had a small butterfly tattoo on her arm, near the inside crook of her elbow.
…and the list goes on, yup they’re all a “dissolute character, probably an alcoholic or one on drugs demonstrating amoral laxity, an inclination if not the actual act of descending the “ladder of virtue”.”

NurseHezz, you must make a fundamental distinction regarding my views on the female tattoo. It is simple yet crucial. One must always distinguish the tattoo in itself from the person wearing it. My comments about the female tattoo being low class referred to the tattoo itself and, yes, I believe it is low class. However, the person wearing it may have redeeming qualities, may indeed be a paragon of virtue, but I think this would be unlikely. In any case, it further seems to me that viewing one’s body as a canvass and letting someone else do their “art” on it is at best mindless and at worst a form of mild schizophrenia, i,e., seeing one’s own body as an external object.

Really, just in five words. Marvellous!

Woggie, you know how much I hunger for your body.
A pleasure as always.
Cheerio!
There you go again, MM. Confusing your antiquated opinion with fact. Judging by your criteria for facts, all philosophy professors are douchebags.

I don’t suppose that there would be the slightest possibility of you supporting those two assertions, would there be Stephen?
No, I didn’t think so.
A pleasure as always.
Cheerio!
MM “viewing one’s body as a canvass and letting someone else do their “art” on it is at best mindless and at worst a form of mild schizophrenia, i,e., seeing one’s own body as an external object.”
I haven’t belonged to this site very long but MM, that is the most stupid thing I think you’ve written. I do think we are starting to crack your view that the “tatooed woman”is of low class to the “tattoo” it self is low class.
Now of course you have to Google schizophrenia FYI
NurseHezz *high five*

“… the most stupid thing I think you have written.”
Yes Boru, do indeed Google “schizophrenia”. I don’t suppose you see a “logical gap” there by any chance, ie. you assertion to the effect that it is the most stupid thing I have written on the one hand and the necessity for you to Google its meaning on the other? No, I suppose not.
A pleasure as always.
Cheerio!
…Lol MM fuck off. *head shaking*…because you got me there….lol
Happy Treaty Day, montrealman and Tehran-Ivan!

Boru, I’m puzzled. How did I “get” you there and, perhaps more importantly, where is “there?”
: The Iron Biscuit (9:07PM)
Well thank you Biscuit. Now, if only I knew the “Treaty” you are talking about, my happiness would be complete.
A pleasure as always.
Cheerio!
This dude does not help our case….
