To all of the pan handlers littering the street of Halifax, would it be so hard when you stick your hand out and ask for some spare change to add a “Please?” You may actually be surprised of how far manners will get you.

Just returned from NYC, and there are actually more panhandlers here than there!! I’m not kidding.
They have some very strict pan handling laws in NYC and have worked hard to “clean up” Manhatten, especially the Times Square area. It apparently works to keep the poor from being visible to tourists, but doesn’t do much to actually solve the poverty issue. I can’t remember the details, but I think it involves fining and jailing pan handlers.
