The single most disappointing feature of NS politics today is how negative and petty the NDP PR people have become. I was so hopeful that we were in for a different kind of politics in 2009 when the NDP came to power, but now all I want to do is give the NDP a reason to clean house in their communications dept. I was pleasantly suprised when the NDP became like a ‘more fiscally responsible’ (if the budget reports are vaguely true) Liberal/PC party.
Maybe the best of three bad options? *cringes at my own words*
I hope those fucking orange bozos never again have a majority – they became the very beast they fought against in opposition for decades – total hypocrites. The PR people all earn well over $75,000 a year (check out the supplement to the Public Accounts under Communications N.S., the government propaganda machine) and there’s a shitload of them bleating the party line. That leaves Lurch for the Liberals and Kiff for the PCs. How fucking depressing.
By the way, the ‘balanced budget’ is simply the same trick the opposition parties pulled when they were in power. Smoke and mirrors, folks, all smoke and mirrors.
What? Politicians that convinced you they were awesome started acting like politicians after they got your vote?
Well THAT’S never happened before.
They’re all over the place trying (very poorly) to convince us DD and his clowns are doing a great job. As for the “balanced budget”, it can be found at the library in the Fiction section. So how can they raise taxes and users fees and still manage to increase the debt by about 20%. We can’t afford these clowns getting another term – EVER!!!!!!!
The problem with the provincial NDP is that they failed to distinguish themselves from any previous government. So it’s time to toss them out and put in … ah.. one of the previous governments.
Tired of your current Government?
Vote Captain!
Been drinking Captain for the last three years. It doesn’t help and cost a fuck of a lot more.
Someone should start the Weasel Party – at least they would probably seem more honest from the get go about their ‘plans’ for us all. It would give us time to get the lube out and be prepared etc. Meanwhile we will have Liars – Blue; Liars – Red and now joining the list Liars – Orange and maybe some Greens (who have yet to be in power and been proven to be Liars – yet) along with maybe a few ‘independents’ running in the soon to be upcoming election. Colourful but not really much of a rainbow connection for us all.
I surmise – based on their performance and my own personal thought – is that we won’t have another orange wave in a LONG time…
The Nova Scotia NDP put out positive ads and their social media is flooded with positive messages about their achievements over the last four years.
I don’t recall people complaining when the Nova Scotia Liberal Party ran a quarter of a million dollars in attack ads against the NDP. And oh, it was paid for by tainted trust fund money too. Funny that.
Are there negative attack ads? Yes. If they didn’t run them, they would be negligent as a political party. Quite frankly, those who say “stay positive” and “I hate attack ads” are pretty stupid. Why? They work and help win elections. BC NDP leader Adrian Dix took that advice and ran a “positive” campaign. He just smiled when the BC Liberals attacked him. Well, that worked out well, huh?
I totally loved the fact that our “progressive” NDP government ran some hilarious attack ads against Lurch McNeil that tapped into that subliminal dislike/distrust of Quebec that few Canadians have the guts to own up to.
Bravo ‘dippers. May just vote for you next time, if my candidate isn’t a sticky fingered douche who happens to “care too much”
