I get that work has to be done on the bridge. I get that it gets noisy. I SORT OF get that there are only so many people on staff (but honestly with the amount of toll money coming across that thing every day, I’m sort of not buying it…) but when there is nobody at the gate to help a driver in trouble, that’s stupid.
So the gate doesn’t open. Fine. I honk. Nothing. I yell out the window. Nothing. Cars are backing up behind me. Some are also honking. I yell again, louder. Because clearly nobody can hear me.
Then you, idiot, come barreling over and telling me that these workmen “Are not going to come help me” and that “they’re working”
I say “Look, I yelled because I didn’t think you could hear me. I’m stuck here, and all these other people are stuck here, and nobody is here to assist or paying attention.”
And you say “Of course they can’t hear you, they’re working.”
Sooo… all those tolls we’re paying can’t go toward putting a few extra staff on in cases like this so that drivers in trouble CAN be seen and heard? It’s not like the bridge wasn’t busy. It was a super-busy time of day.
Or at least hire staff that apologize for the issue and for nobody being available. It’s understandable. It’s not your fault. But your attitude was unnecessary. —driving around through bedford from now on Absolute bull.

you know, this really fulfills the mandate of the LTWWB.
bitch, bitch, bitch, bitch
Next time gate doesn’t go up…shove gate away with front of car…done this soo many times…they’ll be out quickly then
MACPASS
Sorry, but how is it the responsibility of the bridge workmen to manage HBC equipment?
Considering how much those lazy ass commissionaires make per hour then on overtime, I don’t think you’d want more. Lets work on making the double dipping lazy fucks actually work for their paycheck, like you were hinting at OB. Thats only if their union will let them.
And the Bridge Commission operates at a loss every year. Surprising, eh?
TOMMYJULES, STAY OFF THE BRIDGE, YO!
I josh, I josh.
Meaty, it’s the responsibility of the bridge STAFF to manage this sort of thing and I think op stated pretty clearly that there were no staff to be found.
Dear me…
Drive through the gate, it swings open like butter. Their more for show than function 😛
Same thing happened to me on Sun night. I have a MacPass. I drive up, the gate doesn’t open (yes I do have money on my account). I back up and toss a loonie in the bin. Still doesn’t open. Then I laid on the horn, opened my window and started yelling for someone to open the gate. After about 10 seconds it finally opened.
That sh!t shouldn’t be happening!
There is one particular gate that 90% of the time doesn’t open when we drive to it (we avoid it now, after making the mistake too many times). It’s clearly not a problem with the MacPass since it doesn’t happen to the ones we always go to. So yeah, this is a worthy bitch methinks.
