Just when I thought this part of the world was catching on to green living, I was taking the 52 Bayers lake, looking out the window, and I was shocked to see that at LEAST 9 out of 20 cars with 4 or more seats in it, had only one person in it!

Wasteful.

Please, take the bus, carpool, bike, get a smart car or motorbike, anything!

the funny thing is, these people are spending more of their own money than they need to, then complaining about gas prices.

  1. Hey Trying not to be a hypocrite here: Don’t try – do! Some people are stuck in their cars alone because they live out where there are NO busses although they’ve been part of the grand amalgamation and certainly pay taxes that should afford them such treats – so they are stuck paying a huge amount of money a week to go to work and don’t even get me started on the parking! I can’t carpool because I work varied hours and YES I have to. I would love to sit on public transit and feel holy than thou while I look out at people who may be just trying to do their best. But hey as soon as I can get out of the crushing debt of my taxes I’ll buy a smart car but I won’t be able to take my kids anywhere or my dog or pick up any groceries for a family of five, gee. No I’ll get a motorbike and drive it four months a year. OR a ride-on lawn mower. Feel the love!

  2. while this might be your specific case Jan, that is just you. Go downtown to any office. Watch how many of them leave the staff parking lots alone. Take the Aliant building. Yuo cant tell me that there isnt a way to reduce more than half the traffic that works there. You cant tell me that 3 people from cole harbour couldnt have got together and parked 2 of them cars at the portland bus terminal thing and taken one car.Just for a second Jan, take yourself out of the equation, look at others, are you suggesting that he is wrong? Hardly. If Jan, you stopped at Tim Horton’s for just a beverage, you are part of the wasteful problem. Are you telling me that you are incapable of not getting out of your car and going into get that coffee? You cant carpool , but does that mean that you are incapable of parking your car at one of the many lots on the outskirts of the city and busing to work? Or do you have to drive all the way in? ” But hey as soon as I can get out of the crushing debt of my taxes I’ll buy a smart car but I won’t be able to take my kids anywhere or my dog or pick up any groceries for a family of five, gee”I hate to tell you this Jan, but there are MANY families that make do without a car and can do the same shit. So please, do not come down on the OP for telling you something that is truthful

  4. fuck you mr. fucking 9 to 5 try working shift work and catch a bus on a regular basis when you get off work after midnight and not everyone wants to leave their car in the city’s wonderful park and ride lots for their cars to get robbed. if you want to take the bus — go ahead — just shut up about it , you dont know the circumstances of other people lives , as for me im going to drive to work alone drive home alone but im only in the car 7-8 minutes each way. try bitching at the people that live in windsor or lantz and drive an hour to work each way so they can live in the woods. think about it if there are 3 people driving an hour into the city thats 20 min each if they were alone but arnt they green heros for car pooling. maybe if we had a transit system in this fucking city that ran past midnight people might use it.

  5. funny, you justify your not car pooling, because the buses dont run past midnight. Sweet.
