Well I have an old sled that might be WORTH $500.00, but I do not have a trail pass or license and now they say that the fine by DNR will be $500.00 if they stop you without the above. I wonder if they will take the sled to pay the fine? Would they then give me a lift home? Oh yeah, by the way, I do not travel on the National 104 groomed trails, just around my home on old roads. I also do not think this will limit the speed that the new machines can do (in excess of 100 miles per hour) that usually cause the accidents. There should be a grandfathering on this for sleds that are older that say 15 years. Oh well just another way for the province to obtain money for their coffers. —OLD SLEDDER

Does it matter how old and shitty your car is? No. You still need insurance and a licence….
No shit, eh? My cousin lost the rights to our grandfather’s 60 year old camp because he couldn’t afford all of DNR’s snakes and ladders.
Don’t bother, just keep riding and enjoying your sled in your area, DNR is so understaffed the chances of getting caught are nil unless you have asshole neighbors.

a sled is a snowmobile ther old son, not a car. and i know what this bitcher feels like. they sell these things, but there isn’t going to be anywhere to use them, except on your own property. and in the city, that can lead to all kinds of shit.
worst of all, being a small house lot. best of all, the noise from traffic to kill the sound of your machine. i have a 4 wheeler, and haven’t had much of a chance to use it, but i will be damned if i sell it to appease some whiney son of a bitch, to stop the trail use. part of the money i paid to register the thing goes to the trail fund, and as such, gives me the right to use said bike on said trails.
if they are going to stop trail use, then they ha better drop the 40 buck trail fees to get bikes and such registered. there is too much bulshit going on now. i hear that the province is thinking to get all bikes safety checked, before you can get registered now, well come on down.
if they want to do that, it is fine with me, then i will drive my bike on the fucking road after that. isn’t a smart car, just a wheeler with a cab on it, and a bike actually goes faster than one. so, bring on the checks, we are ready and waiting. once it is done, look out. and then they talk about the damage a bike does to the woods, bullshit there too. anyone that lives in an area such as stewiacke or the like, can tell and show you, that the damage is done by logging companies and there gigantic tires, that leave ruts 2 or 3 feet deep, and they go over or thru everything. so yeah, this pisses me off too. if they ban the use of atv’s on these trails, then they should also ban the logging trucks and machines from the woods, just sayin.
How much is the license? Even at $100 (worst case, and a total guess at what they charge), it’s worth it to make sure DNR stays off your ass.
