I can’t believe that following mayor Savage’s pitiful job of snow removal after last winter’s admittedly insane amounts of snow that for our first snowstorm of the year the snow removal today is similarly godawful. There’s no excuse for it this time. We knew it was coming. The circumferential highway, which isn’t exactly a low traffic route, was snow covered and dangerous in several places well into the morning. What have the snow plow drivers been doing all morning? Napping? Jerking off? We’re a goddamn capital city. We shouldn’t have this pathetic a showing on snow removal yet again. Has our mayor learned NOTHING from last year? —Slip Sliding All Over The Road

  1. Perhaps we should develop the magic spray from that Frosty the Snowman cartoon that elimantes any trace of snow. I think that’s the only way some people will be happy. I drive the circ all the time, its fine.

  2. I haven seen a huge improvement compared to last year. At least they are making more of an effort this year. Mother nature will make it difficult to keep on top of it like always. Thats what she does best.
All it will require is to tow the idiots who park on the street that interfere with proper street clearing. Drivers should plan ahead. If you know the ban is in effect and you won’t have a spot to park just use the bus instead and save your money.
No excuse to be parking on the street when you know the ban is in effect. If you do, you deserve to get a ticket and towed.
Salting sidewalks is still an issue. Yesterday evening the sidewalks had no salt on them out my way and all that snow that melted in the sun froze. Made for walking tricky.
On the point made it looks like the city waits till the worst has past before they really start working on cleaning up. Before the worst has past they do touch ups. At least that what they have been doing where i am.
