The whole smoking is bad for you and should be banned in public place is a (what’s that term?????) SMOKE SCREEN. If the government really gave a shit, they would make smoking illegal outright, but noooooo, big daddy loves them taxes too much don’t he? And what about (God forbid) real air pollution???? I’m not even going to mention the fact that the amount of money the government rakes in from cigarette taxes far exceeds what it puts back in to smoking cessation programs. Truly the hypocracy will never end with our government. I just feel sorry for the niave who think that the government is really trying to save the public from the “evil” second hand smoke. if this was truly an issue to be considered then YES they would make smoking illegal – but it will never happen. they will continue to use this tax money for whatever it is the government uses it for. they will use the reasoning like look at the negative results of “prohibition”. “Why if we were to outlaw smoking, racketearing for cigarettes would more than likely be the result. And then what would we do?”
