I am sick and tired of waiting at the bus terminal and constantly have smoke blowing in my face!!!! You cannot walk anywhere at the bus terminals without walking into cigarette smoke!YUCK!!! And why do smokers think they have the right to smoke inside the bus shelters when it’s raining? it’s not or fault you smoke!!! they don’t care that we have to inhale that toxic CR@P!! C’mon people a little respect for us non-smokers huh! They have made most public places non-smoking,so why is it OK for people to smoke at the bus shelters around other people???? Something needs to be done, whether it is make designated smoking areas at bus terminals or ban it all together!!

Your right not only is it discusting , its disrespectful and intimidating. I hate when the bus driver gets off for a smoke. Like the bus ride takes long enough already .Sometimes that is a 10 minute wait
As far as I know there is a no-smoking bylaw for bus shelters but why not ask the smoker to take it outside? Why does somebody else have to do your talking for you? Couple your healthy lungs with a stronger backbone and you might end up living the way you want to.
God forbid a metro transit driver take a break and do what he chooses to do….*gasp* smoke! I believe they are entitled to breaks like the rest of the working world!?!
If a driver is outside the bus smoking, chances are he/she isn’t scheduled out for at least 3 minutes. That said, I agree with OP about smokers in the shelter. Rain or no rain, it’s not an uncommon sight, and that makes me sad really.
Every time someone smokes in a bus shelter baby Vishnu cries
not all smokers are bad i am a smoker and i never- smoke in bus shelters-smoke around children-blow smoke in peoples faces
They don’t intentionally “blow smoke in your face”. The wind may push it your way, or you happen to walk by them, or they walk by you, butnobody walks right up to your face and blow smoke in it.Indoor public places are non-smoking. Outdoors you have all of that open air, that it just rises up and disappears. As for the bus shelters, smokers go in the to light it up, and walk out. If not, there is an opening anyway, so the wide open air clears it all out. It’s not like you’re going to get cancer from it. You’re not exposed to a half-a-pack or more of second hand smoke each day. Just the odd one at the bus stops. Just walk away. Quit complainging about something that’s so simple to figure out the solution to. Just walk away from them.
Why dont we have a little more respect for you? Smokers are a minority that is most discrimiated against in some places, and w take your shit sitting down. We aren’t even allowed to smoke indoors anymore. Geezus fuck, why dont places put in rooms like Tim Hortons used to have for smokers? Why dont non-smokers walk around instead of walking directly through smoke we just exhaled and they saw? Why when they’re walking on the other side of the street do they cough and cough and look directly at us, even though the smoke is no where near them? Non-smokers think they rule the fucking planet. Learn to share, dumbfuck. And Ryan, they bus drivers are entitled to a break. They drive our miserable sorry asses around all day (mine included), and listen to our sob stories. It’s no wonder the drivers have shitty attitudes. They have people cursing and swearing at them, spitting on them, throwing stuff at them, knives pulled. Perhaps you should look at it fromt he other side of the fence before throwing stones you nitwit
