Enough about smoking outside already. It isn’t a tenth as offensive as being stuck in an elevator with a dude drenched in whore lure (aftershave). You could almost see the waves of stink surrounding him like a fucking halo. You might entice Pepe LePew, you smelly bastard, but you just make my eyes stream like fucking Niagara Falls.

  1. Ohhh man, this is soo true! Happens to me on the bus a lot as well…I swear, i’ll take a bus load of people who smell like rotting cheese over one bastard who wears half a can of axe… It actually works the opposite way of the ads – I can smell you coming and i go out of my way to avoid you!!

  2. AXE!!!!!!! That stuff smells like a ten day old possum carcass. I figure they’re trying to cover up the fact they shower once a decade and have armpit hair the size of tumbleweeds.

  3. soap , deodrant, facecloth all can be bought at the dollar store, maybe he has a nasal problem and can’t smell himself. too bad for the rest of us!!

  4. It used to be the stereotype was women who bathed in their perfume. But the truth these days it’s the men who douse themselves in chemicals who reek the loudest.

  5. What smells worse than someone who has just been smoking? Someone who just had some gum because they’ve just been smoking. The mix of years of nicotine use on your teeth combined with mint/fruit disgusts me. Especially because they feel they can get closer to you if they’re chewing gum after they smoke.

  6. Fair points, matt, but you must admit that people whose clothing reeks of cigarette smoke are awfully hard to be around. Stale, rancid cigarette smoke: so wonderful to sit next to, on the bus.

  7. matt, I was adding to your comment with one of my own. Clothing that reeks of stale cigarette smoke is at least as disgusting as perfumes and whatnot, even if (as you say) second-hand smoke itself is a non-issue. And habitual smokers should, I think, be aware of how awful some of them smell.

  8. I thought we were talking about smells here. I avoid all the smoking bitches because they’re just the same arguments being yelled louder and louder back and forth. I don’t mind food smells that much on people, I rarely notice garlic or curry. But flowery and perfume smells are horrible. I’ve often wondered what AXE smelled like just so I could purposely avoid guys who wear it, just to prove that TV is not real life.

  9. There have been some solid studies that have shown that children of parents who smoke outdoors (but never in the house) absorb twice as much nicotine into their bodies as children whose parents are non-smokers. Seems that cigarettes give off particles that stick to clothing and hair, and, when the parents go back inside the house, those particle attach themselves to furniture and whatnot, and from there to the kids.So if someone walks through a cloud of smoke from a bunch of outdoor smokers, they could be picking up millions of these tiny particles, and absorbing them right into their bodies. Which is why, I suspect, health authorities are trying to curb, or ban altogether, smoking outdoors. It all comes down to the old argument: does the right to smoke necessarily include the right to smoke wherever you want?

  10. HAHAHAHA Go make a by-law about it, why dontchya? And while you’re at it ban emission producing anything cause you don’t want to absorb those particles walking by… a bus?HAHAHA

  11. Wow, Kay. That’s quite the narrow, intolerant mind you seem to have there. Good luck with that.
