Several downtown businesses have had their windows smashed lately. Newsflash morons: You aren’t cool and you aren’t hurting Big Bad Business when you do this. You are hurting people who own small businesses who are trying to make a go of it when times are tight and sales may be down. I doubt you actually think about the consequences, but in case you do – newsflash, it isn’t going to be covered by insurance. Four-syllable word coming up: “deductible”, google it.
That means that the several hundred dollars for replacement – maybe a thousand dollars for a large window – comes out of the cash the business needs to pay for inventory, rent, payroll, you know, minor things like that that help to stay in business. So next time you feel the urge to kick something in, I wish you could aim for your own head.

I really don’t think they think or care about who they are hurting.
You are actually assuming that these neandrathals can read…
It’s random vandalism not a political statement.
It’s time to stop crying “Orwellian” everytime someone suggests a UK-style CCTV network. This will stop stuff like this, or at least catch some of the punks…
It’s called “Welcome Back Students!!”
If you really want to get rid of all the vandalism, noise, puke and backward-hat-wearing-jocks, you need to band the Mommies and Daddies from sending their trash to Halifax every September. Or ban “higher” learning.
