Slow the truck down!
I’m sick and tired of all you idiots that speed down city streets. There are pedestrians everywhere, and sooner or later, you going to kill one of us. How would you live with yourself if you hit a little girl or a puppy or something? On a street like Joe

Every week there is some bitty complaining about the “terrible” speeding of drivers in HRM. It is hardly a problem worth mentioning at all. If anything people drive far too slow here.If you do less than 120 on the Gardner in Toronto you’ll be a road hazard but here, everyone seems to be afraid to crack whatever the posted limit is despite driving logic.Too much time is spent by bored cops chasing down people going 5-10 over the stupid limits as it is without more complaining.A puppy…….give me a break.
“In Toronto” “In Toronto””This is how we do it in Toronto”Blah Blah Blah,Cry Cry Cry.Go the fuck back to Toronto and dieon your fucking Gardner.Your dick isn’t going to get any bigger by driving like a maniac.
Oh puuuuleeease.Keep on crying about nothing issues like this you local yokels. You’ve always got the typical haligonian “git bak wer ye cum frum” attituide to fall back on while you toast another failure of local residents to grasp something besides their worries about “puppies and kitties” getting onto the bwad ole rwoads.Got anything better than that you stupid herring choker?
Complaints from the same clowns that dash out to cut people off but then travel at 35 km/h and can’t understand that they’re more dangerous than anyone else. I got a better idea. How about doing something about the increased petty crimes and violent swarmings/beatings that are going on instead? You “concerned” citizens should stop blowing all that hot air and put it to use stopping that shit instead.
Looks like ol’JJJ couldn’t cut it in the big city so he brought his big feelin’ upper canada pompous-I’m above all you- attitude here to grace us with his superior intelect and obvious charm. What I mean to say is-D’uh fank yu ferheppin me ta mayk me poynt fer me.
I agree, you can’t control other people’s actions, however I wouldn’t risk getting in bed with earplugs. There is a serious risk of them getting lodged in your eardrum, effectively rendering you deaf in one or both ears. I would suggest prescription sleeping pills, or at the very least mixing over the counter sleeping aids with at least 4 or 5 stiff drinks before bed. If drinking isn’t your thing there are plenty of narcotics that can help. I always say there is nothing like a roofie colada to get those Zs coming. For more information see:www.thedangersofearplugs.comwww.sleepingwithpills.org
Invest in some earplugs. They actually work. I’m a light sleeper and ocassionally have insomnia, and I live in the South End, where street-cleaning at 3 a.m., garbage trucks at 7 a.m., and all the crazies almost every night of the week create more than enough noise to wake me up…until I discovered earplugs. Since you can’t change the world or control other people’s actions, you might as well do something constructive to get a good night’s sleep.
Even if you do 120 on the Gardiner, you’re still likely to be a road hazard. A drop of rain falls and some fuckstain like yourself who fancies him/herself the next Andretti has totalled their car backing traffic up as far as the eye can see.Whoop.
alternatives to drugs;have u spent any of your sleepless nights researching about what u can do about your problem dietwise, i have suggestions, cut back on salt, white flour products, white sugar products, caffeine, alcohol, greasy fast foods and processed foods, eat more foods high in potassium, oranges, oatmeal, lettuce and celery, eat more foods that contain tryptophan, it occurs naturally in bananas, and pumpkin seedstwo common things people do, drink chamomile or lavendar tea, catnip, mint & lemon balm r also relaxing, steep 4 @ least 20 minutes 4 a decent strength cup passion flower is great for sleep disordersill mention a few more of the many simple things u can try;2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar and 2 of honey in a glass of water an herbal bath with lavender or chamomile oils can b very sedatingwatch or read something funny, laughing will help you relax & sleep betteri like a snall cup of lemon juice with warm water or a sm. cup of warm unsweetened soy milk just before beda little bit odd but worth a try if u r suffering, rub the bottom of your feet with garlic cloves and/or put fresh onions right next to your bed – something about the aroma will put you to sleepvisualization, when lying in bed relax every body part individualy, flex your feet and relax them, flex you r legs, abdomen, chest, arms, clench your fists etc.also yoga, excercise, sex, masterbation can helpi hope this helps, sleep is so important, and when u live in the city its not so easy
Brilliant responses. Absolutely mind boggling acute logic and razor sharp wit in those “go back to Toronto and die” redneck responses.Oh and yeah, 120 makes someone an “Andretti” like choosing recycled x-mas paper makes someone a “Suzuki”.Anything else fellas or are your brains as limited as they appear to be?
JJJ… you are a pompous twit and you make people from Toronto look bad.
Well that should please this city immensely.
I’m from Toront originally JJJ, but Halifax is now my adopted home. And while I used to find some things about Halifax worthy of an eye roll, I remebered the old adage “when in Rome…” Think about it. Maybe it can help you learn to be respectful of other people, even people who don’t hail from Almighty Toronto.
Why is it that large trucks are banned from engine braking, but yet fire trucks do their everything they CAN to engine brake at 2am in a quiet residential neighbourhood? Also, if it’s pitch dark and it’s after say 3am, why do they have to turn on their sirens? Can’t they just turn their damn lights on and go up the street???
I to am from TO, there are alot more things that I dislike about Toronto than Halifax. At least here I find people are real and they care, unlike the cold cold concrete jungle of Toronto and Mississauga, where people slam the doors in your face, are more than willing to run you over in a cross walk simply because they all think that they are some big Bay Street boys speeding around in their rented Hummers and BMW’s talking on the cell phone to look important. They can have their pollution, congestion, rudeness, Mel Lastman, David Miller, Dalton McGinty, but you have to Love Hazel McCallion. Here the waters are still pristine with the exception being Hfx Harbour, the air is fresh, people are respectful and courteous, I actually know my neighbours and my neighbours friends here. Life is an absolute pleasure here, a better quality of life whereas Toronto is nothing but a lousy exsistence anymore, so much time stuck in traffic and travelling to and from work.
