Not really a bitch per se, but a tip: the cops are on the hunt on Bayers Lake for people who speed (yup…anything they catch over the slow speed of 50km/hr is a target…no BS). Plus they are getting extra sneaky and catching people not coming to a complete stop at the intersections in front of the NSLC head office, and the one near the the Sears parts/service. Huge crackdown.

Must be a slow crime wave in the city for them to be committing so much time and effort into this. Where are the Melvins? —COPout

  1. I believe theyre in jail, arnt they?

This is why I walk everywhere. I avoid stuff like this and bus shit too.

  2. Also in BLIP – if you go through the lights and up the hill instead of turning right by Home Sense – you might want to slow down as you crest the hill as the sneaky devils are lying in wait as you rush down that lovely hill.

  3. Update: the cruiser parks in the CourtYard driveway and aims his radar gun down towards Sears Parts/Service….a nice long stretch for them to catch speeders.

On a side note, I have not seen them pull over a semi tractor trailer or bus, and those suckers speed like a BigMac through your digestive system.

  4. Chief Beazley must have upped the ticket quota. Uncle Frank was probably counting on a big budget bump by taking over from the RCMP, and now that it has vanished, he probably needs the money to pay for some things he has already made commitments to buy.

  5. i saw a “vehicle inspection and enforcement” vehicle today.. not DOT.. it was a little red hatchback thingy with the blue and red lights.. sneaky buggers..

  6. Here’s a tip, don’t be asshats, and drive the fucking speed limit, and guess what? You won’t get caught by these so called “sneaky devils” simply doing their job.

  7. Yeah, I know, what a difficult concept. Driving the speed limit.

Where’s Frosty and his “speed limits are antiquated values based on cars that weren’t safe” bullshit?

  8. listening in on my scanner today, i have heard of at least 50 people getting tagged for speeding, all over the city. gotta love technology hey.

  9. They were out in full force on Tuesday, holy! Dartmouth side of the MacKay Bridge as you’re coming down the Bisexual Hi, highway to the airport, highways around Bedford/Sackville, Barrington Street just north of downtown up to the MacDonald Bridge where for some reason the speed limit is only 50 km/hr though everyone does 60 or 70.

I can only count myself lucky that I didn’t get a ticket, had to slow down a bit a few times… yeah yeah I know, don’t speed and you won’t get a ticket, blah blah… or, speed a little bit, get to where you need to be faster, and just watch out for the cops. If I got a ticket, I’d accept my punishment and pay it, OK? I agree with Frosty’s comment.
