There is little more about the radio that I hate more than songs with sirens in the background, making me double-take my mirrors to check for emergency response vehicles and police, and having to shut off the radio to check if it was a real siren. Radio edits should not be allowed to have sirens in them! —I have bad enough road rage as it is!

  1. If you can’t tell the difference between a siren on a radio and one in real life then maybe you shouldn’t be driving.

  2. I agree withthis bitch !
There should be no emergency vehicle sounds what so ever allowed to be transmited on radio shows.

I don’t know about how the rest of you drive, but as soon as I hear a siren I immediately check my passenger side mirror & start slowing down & to pulling over to the curb/shoulder of the road . Which is what you are required by law to do…it doesn’t say when & or IF you feel like it, you are suppose to pull over safely immediately!
Now with this new law, you don’t slow down & or pull out into an outside lane while also slowing to 60kms they can & will ticket you & probably charge you with everything else they can come up with !

  3. does an air raid siren count?
like in the opening of ‘indestructable’ ?

cause the song really wouldn’t be the same without it.

  4. do what i do o.p., keep the fucking radio off, not only does it distract me, but it is filled with fucking shit.

  5. This frustrates me as well. If I hear what I think to be a siren I immediately turn the radio off and start checking mirrors so I can get out of the way if need be. Frustrates me too.

  6. But without the sirens “Indiana Wants Me” would be just another cheesy rebel-without-a-clue dirge on a K-Tel album.

  7. What about other songs guys? Let’s try and jog our memories. I got Firehouse by KISS and Money City Maniacs by Sloan. Any others?

  8. Hell yes, road rage. Also, cell phone rings in songs make me scramble for my purse to see who’s calling me. Annoying as fuck.

  9. ‘The Night Chicago Died’ – what a fucking lame song with those eerie-ass sirens. Now I’ll have to pound my head with a rock to keep myself from humming that fucking loonie-tune.

1755? Hey, Hub-Unit used to do sound for them! We’ve got the teenie-tiny t-shirts to prove it – heh-heh – now they’re knee warmers.
