Okay so a lot of talk about strikes and how bad economy is, on top of it how bad Harper is at his job (and just being a decent human being).

Where in the fuckin police hand book does it say you protect and serve only political figures?! Harper calls in a police force to remove Occupy and the cops jump all over it, straight abuse of power, is this really how we allow our government and people sworn in to protect the PEOPLE conduct themselves? Read the side of your car “protect and serve the people” not a small portion of the population that considers themselves higher up.

To all the officers out in NS (Even the ones that are good) next time you’re thinking about carrying a kid off for petty crimes to reach that quota, imagine you’re the parent of that person you’re sworn to protect, would you want your kids treated that way? Even better put yourself in the shoes of that person would you want to be treated like that? If the answer’s no, don’t fucking do it.

Remember your wages are payed by the people you work for; the people and you are to follow the laws the same as any other person, I just hope every cop who chooses to abuse the power their given get what they deserve.

Another little thing to remember for protests, if you break up a peaceful protest the only other protest is a violent one. Just remember who you serve, people, not only political figures. Assholes. —Check What Your Job Guide Lines Are

  1. Was someone picked up for being drunk downtown?

If you check the phone lines I bet there are very few calls from the “elite” calling for assistance.

And of course all petty crimes committed by kids should be ignored.

There is a difference between a peaceful protest and those who take over public lands so that other members of the public can’t use the space.

  2. OB, your post is kind of all over the place. One minute you’re talking about police only protecting elected officials, the next, about them arresting Occupy protesters, (and here in HRM, Mr. Harper didn’t make THAT call), and then you switch over to police arresting kids for petty crimes and then finally, back to protests again. I can’t tell if you’re talking about police brutality or just police/authority in general. Pick a theme, dude.

“…next time you’re thinking about carrying a kid off for petty crimes to reach that quota, imagine you’re the parent of that person you’re sworn to protect, would you want your kids treated that way?”

As the laws stand right now, we can’t make the parents “accountable”, (either by fines, counselling, jail time, etc) for the criminal actions of their young offender offspring. Personally, I think we should. In a lot of cases, (not all, but a lot), if the parents/guardians were made to feel some ramifications for the actions of their kids, there would be far fewer instances of minors committing crimes. (I may be way off base here but, that’s my opinion) And where the fuck people get the idea of “quotas” from is beyond me. It’s laughable.

“Even better put yourself in the shoes of that person would you want to be treated like that? If the answer’s no, don’t fucking do it.”

Actually, if the answer is no, then don’t do the crime. Plain and simple.
By your post, OB, the police should just look the other way and not arrest a kid commiting a crime, because it’s only petty and they are just a kid and wouldn’t you feel bad if you were his/her parent? Yeah. Sure. Makes sense to me. lol

  3. ….do they actually have quotas to meet, or is that a myth? Are any bitches real police officers? I don’t really care about “my sister’s cousin’s boyfriend’s uncle said one time, and his friend’s friend was a mountie”.

  4. I think the OP is Mr. Occupy Mudface and he’s pissed off that he misinterpreted his dominatrix gf when she told him “You lack discipline”

  5. Wouldn’t ignoring a crime based on age also be an abuse of power? Just because you consider it “petty” doesn’t mean there aren’t any victims who will have to pay to remove your tags or replace the windows you smashed or lose money on the Drakkar Noir you stole.

  6. It’s usually a special detail to protect major political figures OP. Those removing the Occupiers were HRM police enforcing HRM by-laws, it’s their job. As far as petty crimes as concerned, don’t do it if you don’t want to be part of a so-called “quota”.

  7. as an ex pinkerton security officer, no, the politicos have c.s.i.s., and the others are just hired out loally to work with them. just like i was in the year trudeau spoke in halifax. his special cops and i, had a 10 minute standoff, across the stage, from each other, not knowing who either was. lack of communiction was the problem. hrm cops handled the bums there, as they do all things in hrm, petty or major. a kid slashing tires today, is/could be one slashing your throat tomorrow.

  8. Those serve & protect stickers on cop cars actually cover the real slogan (it underneath them) peel one off & you’ll see under it says “to harrass & infuriate “.

  9. …yeah More, and the neo-stalinist stylized fist on the A.T.U. signs represents exactly what they are doing to the taxpayers who underwrite their jobs.
