  1. What I fail to understand… they jacked the prices up with the rising cost of fuel/gas, stating it was more expensive to get the products to market. Now the price of gas is at its lowest in years, yet the price of grocery items hasn’t gone down at all. I think the grocery chains are using the fuel price excuse to gouge the public, and it’s especially noticeable now that gas/fuel prices have gone down so far..

  2. i saw this news interview where the guy said (don’t remember who he was) but he said groceries won’t go down in cost because we all know gas prices will go up again and they are pretty much covering their future losses now before it happens

  3. For the OP – I find this normally happens when there is either a big storm coming or stores have been closed a couple days for holidays….when they open back up again people go nuts for some reason …………I know I’m sick of getting expired food from the stores I shop at …and I don’t mean a week over the date…I’m talking several months past due….I’d rather them just not have the product than sell me something I half eat before I notice the expiry date (i know, i don’t know why I haven’t learned to check em before I buy em)

  4. next time the store’s out of eggs try the “egg creations” or “egg beaters” or some such product. I started eating those instead of eggs and they have no fat or cholesterol per serving AND I find they taste better (and you don’t get that gross sulfur-y aftertaste either).
