Don’t fucking come in to work if you are SICK! It makes me crazy to see how many people come in to work and hack and cough and sneeze their way though the day, blowing their noses, spreading their shitty germs all over the rest of us, telling everyone how sick they feel. Yes, you may have to lose pay to stay home, but be considerate to the rest of us! Stay the fuck home! It’s going to be a long winter if I have to put up with this shit until spring. —Don’t Want Your Germs

  1. Are you OP going to supplement their income when they can’t pay rent or cover their bills. If not the STFU.

  2. It’s not like getting sick is a big surprise to everyone. It happens all the time. What is wrong with planning ahead and saving the equivalent of a week’s salary so staying home while sick is not such a big deal? Lacking foresight, is it really so terrible to have to catch up financially instead of selfishly spreading one’s germs around the workplace?

  3. Saving money….not everyone makes enough to save…most times it is just enough to get by. So that is easier said then done

  4. They think they’re being heros for dragging their asses into work no matter what.

    Heh.

Though, some don’t have sick time and if they don’t go in they don’t get paid and for some it’s a matter of eating/paying rent/not getting the electricity shut off situation. We’re not all “Survivor”s.

  5. I have always been lucky enough to work with companies that have sick days, but still there are some who have to come in sick because in their minds the whole place will fall apart without them, big twat egos. Those working with no sick days given it’s tough to stay out sick, no work no pay.

  6. OP. You are ignorant. Here is why:

    1. Most of what you’re hearing at this time of year is due to autumn allergies. Allergies aren’t contagious.

    2. Sick people are contagious, or most contagious, before symptoms show in most common-cold-or-flu-type cases.

    3. If you think sick people staying home from work keeps you safe from flus or colds, you are tragically mistaken. Imagine.. every doorknob you touch. Every child you walk by. Every bus you sit on. Every coffee shop you frequent. Every toilet you sit on. You’re swimming it in OP. Suck it up, get your flu shot and mind your own business.

There’s a difference between touching the odd doorknob and being forced to sit directly beside a sick person for 8 hours. You’re pretty much guaranteed to get sick. There are no real precautions you can take.

I personally wear gloves or use my shirt to open the door for that reason.

I don’t come to work sick because I hate when others come to work and get me sick. It’s fucking rude. Not because I’m not physically able, because I’m considerate.

This girl came into work sick as a DOG last year, like 2 days before Christmas. I don’t think dogs even get this sick. We were seated directly beside each other, only a cubicle wall separating us. She got me sick, like really sick, on Christmas. Started feeling the symptoms just as I was about to sit down with my family for Christmas dinner. Sweet girl, but I could have stomped her the fuck out. We can work from home here. No need to lose pay. I had been trying SO hard to not touch anything or do anything that might have infected me, and I was doing good.

Now that I think of it, it wasn’t even 2 days before it was like Christmas Eve. And she comes in not with just a little sniffle, but the god damn blackbonic plague.

It happens, I have had to come to work sick because I had no days left. I felt shitty about it and took precautions to try and contain my germs. I may have failed. I can’t figure out how to get my work laptop to connect from home and kind of gave up after getting the runaround from IT and my managers. I think I’m gonna have to figure it out cuz winter is our busy season it’s hard to get any time off or call in sick without being guilt-ed into showing up.

I don’t see how it’s any different from second hand smoke. It makes people sick, and it’s fucking rude.

My favorite is when someone invites you over or invites themselves over to hang out and THEN tells you they’re sick. And I’D be considered rude for telling them to go home with their sick selves. Fuckin world.

  8. “lose pay to stay home”????? Sounds like someone needs a salary job where you still get paid, sick day or not.

  9. i used to hate this too, when i was working at purdy’s wharf. the fools would come in, fuck around for a couple hours, infect everyone near them, then fuck off, and a day or two later, half the work force is out, yeah, you guessed it, sick too. stay the fuck home, don’t bring your mother fucking germs near me, i have enough problems, without yo helpping to add to them.

  10. If you are paid for sick time, then use it. If you don’t get paid sick time, then I hope the company loses a ton of profits when the sickness goes around to everyone.
