I am not impressed by one of my neighbors. It’s bad enough that this apartment building is one of the least friendly places I have ever lived, but now there are thieves in our midst as well? Now I have to wonder which of the people that refuse to greet or even acknowledge one another in the hallways had the balls to steal my Halloween decoration off my door. —Saving for Mortgage Down-payment

if you lived where i do, that shit doesn’t happen. we are like one big happy family in this building, ask the black rose, she knows where i am, and how quiet and peaceful it is here, right rosie babe.
Where is that LS?
It’s true LS! And OP, I had that happen to me when I first moved to Halifax… I hadn’t celebrated Christmas for a long time ’cause something bad always happened (robbed in Ottawa, Dad diagnosed with Lung cancer, laid off 3x… etc.). So, I decided NS, new start, new outlook. A friend had made me a very cool Maple Leafs blue/white stocking for my door. Second day it was up– poof! It was some drunked doofus who went around switching door decorations and mine just disappeared. I could have done the whole ‘See? see? Christmas Sucks! People suck!’ But I didn’t. It was just a thing… my friend sent me another one and I hung it up inside. People are just odd. Move into the Sucksters building… it’s on a very neat street, is small and quiet and close to everything! You don’t happen to live in a building whose address rhymes with ‘Hipbone Toast’ do you?
The OP could always take the initiative and say hi to neighbors. If the OP remains consistent with the “Hellos” the people will eventually respond, or shoot you. Hmm…on second thought, don’t open your mouth.
p.f., i live on the quiet end of evans in fairview. i hear noise only from the cops going up other streets. it is quiet here, because i like it that way, and no one gives me any shit. if they did, they would not be around here long.
and in the over 6 years that i have been here, my rent has only gone up 25 bucks.
