This bitch is for cyclists and motorists (I fall into both categories).
To motorists: please stop giving up your right of way just because you’re afraid of what cyclists will do. I know there are awful cyclists, but that doesn’t mean you should come to a complete halt when it’s clearly your right of way just because you see a cyclist. If they fuck up and cut you off, say making a left hand turn at a light when you’re driving straight in the opposite direction, then it’s their fault if they get hurt. Also, coming to a complete halt reinforces bad bicycling behaviour, as it tells asshole cyclists that they can do whatever they want because motorists will give into them.
To cyclists: read the fucking rules of the road. You can’t blast through stop signs/lights/cross walks, ride on sidewalks (unless you’re a kid), and you absolutely MUST use hand signals. Also, if a motorist is giving up their right of way to accommodate you, don’t let them. Stop your bicycle and wave them over. They need to learn that not all cyclists are idiots. —cyb0rg_

but o.p., if they all heeded the rules, then there would not be a use for the body bags.you know the ones i mean, the ones that have the extra absorbancy in them, to soak up all the road goo.
Blah blah blah blah motherfucking blah.
Good points. And people in cars: please stop stopping to let other people in cars turn across traffic in front of you.
OP. What you’re asking is for people to use common sense. That phased out in the 20th century.
It’s true. Humanity replaced common sense with Karma. Results speak for themselves.
LOL ‘gasmatron!

This was caught live while reprting on the story of expanding cycling lanes in Moncton. Beautiful irony in so many ways. I wonder, if even for a split second, the cyclist realized what a douche he was.
probably didn’t realize until later….
To those fucking boneheaded cyclists who ride on the sidewalk – FIRE IN THE HOLE!!!!!!
I have a question. I’m in my early 40s with a small child who has is just learning how to drive a bike. When he rides his bike it’s obvisously on the sidewalk. What should i do? Should i bike on the road besides him which doesn’t quite make sense to me. Or should i bike with him on the sidewalk? The sidewalk makes more sense to me but it’s apparent that a lot of people see this act as worse then murder. I hate to piss so many people off by this act of rebellion but i really don’t know what else to do in this situation. His safety means more to me then the opinion of strangers but yet i feel bad that i’m upsetting those people so much.
Speaking as a pedestrian, I’d say as long as you are riding at his speed and alongside him the sidewalk is your option. Like you say, his safety trumps other people’s opinions. As long as you are aware of pedestrians in your path you’ll find most of us pretty easy-going and will meet you and your child more than half-way. It’s the weedhead TonyHawk wannabe spermbags that treat a sidewalk as an interactive obstacle course who are crying out for a stiffarm to the Adam’s apple; not a solicitous parent teaching their little one proper bike courtesy.
Have fun.
i concur with ivan, most rational people realize what your primary goal is “weedhead tonyhawk wannabe spermbags” not bad for a monday
Morning Painey. I’m either having the mother of all allergy attacks or I’m in the opening salvoes of the dreaded “Hot Weather Cold”. My head feels like the Hindenburg and I’m so doped on nyquil I swear I keep seeing Claus Von Bulow in my dreams saying “Sleep, sleep my friend. Another 5 minutes sleep will do you a world of good” Feck me.

i totally agree OP. i hate it when motorists come to a dead stop to let me across intersections. I appreciate it when people yield, and when everyone follows the rules of the road (even if just for continuity’s sake). But motorists stopping as if every cyclist was a gaggle of blind kindergarten kids is dumb, and messes with the ebb and flow of the traffic. Navigating traffic is like swimming in a school of fish, if everyone merges and flows smoothly then it all goes better.
