Why do so many people insist on putting an apostrophe ‘s’ at the end of words to make them plural? This seems especially true if the word ends in a vowel. Public Service Announcement: it’s photos, not photo’s, bananas, not banana’s etc. I could go on about the difference between it’s and its, you’re and your, they’re, there, their, the spelling of the word definitely, the use of than vs then, etc. but I won’t.

  1. grammer, don’t like it, t.f.b., go pound sand up your ass. you write and spell your way, we will do it ours. your gestapo is enough to make even the hardest whiner here sick.so, go and take your little nazi attitude someplace else.try the cranky harrold.

  2. I believe the OP deliberately made the spelling errors to make a point.

LIFE SUCKS. No offense. But what exactly does your resume look like?

Why does everyone jump on somebody for the use of proper english? They are not nazis. Just a person concerned about making a point in an intelligent manner.

  3. s.c., why should i have a resume,i work for myself,by myself.and what i do,does not need a tutor od anykind.o.p. thinks spelling and grammer is bad, then i guess they haven’t heard tell of texting on a cel phone.some things i can see, but why pick apart every little fucking word a person may write or say. unless i a student of journalism, who gives a shit.right people,if you can get the gist of it all.

  4. Any school teacher will tell you that students range from extremely literate to functioning literate and eveything else in between.

Some people are more gifted than others. Some people are more aware and understanding of this while others are just critical and impatient and seem to take it personally that everyone does not share their level of ability no matter which end of the range they themselves happen to be at. That is why ‘this shit comes up every few weeks’.

  5. wow, Kay made me laugh…
    heh heh…
humor! how refreshing. you seem to be thawing out faster than the ice in vancouver.

  6. Modern writers put ‘s at the end of many things because it changes the meaning if we don’t… if I say “I have 50 dvd’s”, you get it…if I say “I love dvds”…you are immediately reminded of a porno you once saw.

    That, however, OP, was dvda…

  7. One thing I used to do is put an apostrophe S at the end of decade years, like “the 1960’s,” “the 2010’s,” etc. Apparently that is not correct. I’m sorry.

  8. My gramar, she doesn’t care how you spell it, she’s just happy to get a card or letter from any of us. The old dear is pushing 100 years old & still going strong, yeah, it isn’t the old folks who care about the spelling…or it isn’t in my family .They just want a little company or a reminder from us we still care .
