Every fucking night at around 10 you start clomping around walking on your heels or having one of your boyfriends over stomping around in too big shoes, and it goes on all night til 6 am.
Every night for the past 3 weeks you have kept myself, my boyfriend and our two little boys awake for hours on end with your relentless noise! I check on them to find them both laying awake in their little beds, tired eyes on the ceiling wondering what the heck is going on up there. The two previous tenants before you never made noise, there were 4 people living up there together before you and we barely heard them walking, you are not a large or heavy person why the hell are you so loud!?
I’ve called the cops and made noise complaints with the building every other night and they say they spoke to you twice but nothing changes! They all look at me like I’m insane when I say no it’s not music just loud stomping and banging. I’m not crazy, you wake my kids from dead sleep, you make my ceiling light rattle and I can feel your stomping in my own floor and walls. It sounds like you’re throwing rocks at the floor.
Yes we are looking for a new place, we can’t get out fast enough; but in the meantime I wish someone would make you shut the fuck up so my boys can get a full night’s sleep for the first time since you moved in. —Sleepless in Dartmouth

I’ve thin walls and ceilings as well…
and to this day I now can’t sleep with it being too quiet.
I hear my own breathing in my head and then I try to quiet that noise by breathing less and/or more slowly and end up gasping because I’m not breathing enough… then I’m awake because I’ve been gasping for air. Vicious cycle…
anyways, put on a fan for ambient /consistent noise and see if that works….
as it does for me.
OR get some ear plugs and continue to make your daily complaints…
or just Qtip javelin your ears to death and never have to hear that pounding (or anything for that matter) ever again.
I can’t sleep without the noise of a fan, either.
It’s just too damn quiet.
It also drowns out my mom’s snoring (somewhat), and if I can manage to sleep through that, you’ll be just fine, OB.
And start banging on the damn ceiling. Even when they’re quiet. Sounds like they have odd schedules. Bang on it randomly during the afternoon. No noise by laws in effect then, so what are they gonna do? heh.
Leave a flamming bag of poo at their door, that will give them something to really stomp on.
I use to have people who lived above me like that. They stopped after I banged on the celing when they were stomping around. Ironicly shortly after the little shits moved from the building. Always bang on the celing when there is breaks in between the noise nice and loud so they get the hint.
I agree with the fan thing, I can’t sleep without it. My apartment is next to a garbage shoot so like every now and then you hear someone trying to stuff their pizza boxes and other things that are too large in there. Sometimes it sounds like they’re chucking bricks down there… There is also this Android app called Lightning Bug that makes lovely sounds for sleeping occasions 🙂
in the future, try to get the top floor. You may have to curse the staircase, but you’ll get a better night’s sleep.
But SiD, they’re obviously more important than you…or seem to think so.
maybe you should go up and fuck her brains out o.p., then she would be quiet for a little while. hell, you might even get some sleep out of it.
and yes guys, i know it is a female bitching. she can do it, or send for the suckster.
I hear your pain OP, we are near the top floor of our building and the noise from below gets so heavy our floor and cupboards shake, not to mention the people that hate their kids beside us. My advice: Move into a place with lots of carpet, and thickly insulated walls ( if there is noise, you won’t hear it, especially heels!) Good luck and hope you find rest!
This is my bitch, I tried banging during breaks in the stomping but she just did what sounded like a spastic and extremely angry riverdance in reply. Fucking cooked. We have a new place now so I guess I will just make sure she gets no sleep whatsoever while we are moving out and hope the next people to move in give her some grief.
Also you can call the police for a noise complaint at any time of day (got one years ago for playing loud music while unpacking at 2 pm in my first apartment)
OB, why do you have people living in your attic then? Oh wait, you’re poor and probably living in apartments (gag) or some other welfare housing.
