I wonder what everyone did before they had cellphones. God forbid you should sit in silence on the bus for a few minutes, or even (gasp) read a book. I am so tired of seeing people with these things attached to their heads everywhere I go. We are on the bus people.. not in your living room…I know it must be hard to walk down the street not knowing how your friends night at the dome went, but your friend will still be just as stupid when you call her from your destination instead of the walk/drive there, so it probably isn’t that pressing. You should give it a try sometime. You might even have what some people refer to as “an original thought”. I know thats a novel concept, but you should really give it a try, you might actually like it.

  1. I do have a cellphone but I get no where near enough calls to really justify it in my opinion. Which is an irony because I got it so that my client who said he’d need to keep in touch with me all the time, ends up never calling.

  2. I have a cell, which I do in fact need for work, however I do not have one of those cyborg implant thing-a-ma-bobs. I’ve got it set up so it rings differently for different people, and unless it’s really important, I don’t pick up. i don’t understand the peopel who simply have to answer no matter what, no matter when or where, to the point they need special ear pieces….

  3. But look on the bright side… certainly the number of people dying of starvation must be way down given the numbers of people I see talking on them as they do their grocery shopping… “… honey garlic or barbecue? Oh, OK…” Imagine the tragedy in pre-cell times when the wrong food was purchased and people starved as a result.Seriously, the only consolation when dealing with these idiots is the knowledge that their brains are being slowly cooked by the microwaves emitted next to their ear.

  4. The worst is when you know the person is just having a superficial conversation for “your” benefit. they discuss what they did last night as if they werent both there, just to show you that they are above the bus. they have tons of friends and a glamorous life, they are just making an appearance on the bus. then, after they hold the 20 minute pointless conversation, they hang up and call the next person to have another one. i always answer my cel on the bus, but i cup my hand around my mouth and speak low, say what needs to be said and then tell the caller im on the bus and have to call them back. i thought that was common courtesy, but it’s not as common as you’d think.

  5. This one is funny! Do you people know what year it is , of course you are going to see people out in public with cellphones.Isn’t that what they are for ? from the sounds of what you guys are saying you should only use them at home . But wait isnt that were your landline is? so I guess we should just get rid of cellphones since its stupid to use them anywhere but home . I have a cell but I am not on it very much , if I am out somewhere and it rings or vibrates and I want to talk to that person then to bad to whoever is around me I am going to answer it , I agree with wearing the bluetooth while walking around though , doesnt make much sense to wear one unless your driving , But if people being on cell phones is bothering you now you better go talk to someone because it isnt going to get any better for you, thats for sure .
