Dear shitty toys, please stop throwing up horrible tags on gorgeous buildings around town. You make the rest of us look like tools. Put Halifax on the map with nice tags on buildings that deserve them. —Human

  1. Is there really such a thing as ‘good’ grafitti? BTW, thanks for making the bus stop in my neighborhood look like ass. I think I preferred when people would just smash the glass out of it. At least then it would be swept up and that’d be it. Instead I have to see a painted up shitbox everytime I walk my dog.

  2. All those so called ‘tags’…every time I see one, I think L O S E R. How pathetic is your life when all you can think to do is wander the city & scribble on any open space you see ?

  3. More……perfectly put. I have yet to see a “tag” that doesn’t take away from the building, or structure it was scribbled on.

  4. I’ve said it before ad nauseum, but I’ll say it again:

    Graffitti without a message is just vandalism;
Graffitti with a message is STILL JUST FUCKING VANDALISM.! IF YOU OWN THE FUCKING PROPERTY , SPRAY AWAY TO YOUR HEART’S CONTENT. IF YOU DON’T, THEN KEEP YOUR FUCKING GARBAGE OFF OF IT.

Now really, how difficult a concept is that to understand?

  5. The only buildings that ‘deserve’ your shitty tags are the ones that the property owner agrees to. How many do you think that is?

  6. There are times when Graffiti can work. An ad-hoc mural on the inside of a train bridge, political slogans written on the buildings of a military dictatorship, or maybe just a funny comment on a dumpster (a while ago someone painted the words “this is art” on a sidewalk near Dal).

Sadly these ‘tags’ need no skill, no creativity and have no value to others. Why don’t they just tag themselves by tattooing “loser” on their foreheads – less roaming needed.

  7. Let’s just humor these idiots and let them think they’re cool or making a statement…whenever I see these “tags” I just laugh because I know what they really mean. “STOP BUILDING CONDOS” means “I’M 45 AND WORK AT MCDONALD’S AND NOW I CAN’T PAY MY RENT IN MY SLUM BECAUSE OF THE NEW CONDO NEXT TO IT”, “FUCK THA POLICE” means “I’M 15 AND LIVE IN THE SUBURBS”! See! It’s fun 🙂

  8. yeah but o.p., then they wouldn’t be the lil urban angels that they are. maybe make a paint that explodes if you mark it up with shit that is not compatable to it. would make an intereting evening, to hear the booms and blasts that helped clear some of the vermin off the streets, and out of the hoods.
    LET’S JUST DO IT ALREADY.

  9. The legal walls make them look like a 2 year old who can’t colour in the lines…so they go to an empty building so they can’t be measured up to the people with REAL talent.
PS: I do like the power boxes (I think their power boxes) that have murals all over them throughout the HRM.

  10. I like them too RC, and I’ve given up counting the number that have been “improved” with a meaningless black squiggle from some “tag artiste”. Chicken & egg question: Do aerosol spray paint fumes cause brain damage; or do the brain damaged gravitate to spray cans?

  11. i noticed the pretty mural at the corner of windsor/north has been tagged. at least it’s small and they put it up in the corner but feck me

  12. I like good graffiti where you can tell the person spent hours doing it in a sketchbook before even thinking of putting it out in public. And no I don’t have sympathy for some skyscraper or concrete overpass. I’ve never seen a real graffiti artist write on a house or church because they do have at least some respect.

  13. Grafitti artists in Halifax are the biggest bunch of talentless hacks in the business. You are all a disgrace to the art form and how you show your face I’ll never know. You are all PATHETIC and DISGUSTING. I wish someone from NYC or TO would come here and school you all. SHAME.

  14. who the fuck is vice I see his tags all over town. Be more creative. Just your name on a wall is shit, but a mural on a building is awesome.
