I usually keep my complaints about Metro Transit pretty private, among my friends and myself. I know Metro Transit has a hard job to do. I also recognize the impossibility of always being on schedule.
However, I just waited for 45 minutes in the cold rain at a stop with no bench for the #1 bus. Which is supposed to come every 15 minutes. Standing on my arthritic knee, which, incidentally was inflamed due to the weather. Painful? Yes. Even moreso when the bus was so crowded with other people that had accumulated during the delay that I had to stand.
Between the hours of 4 and 6, going from downtown to Mumford or vice versa is always a hassle. Some of us really depend on you guys, Metro Transit. Please find a more efficient way to deal with delays. —Achy Breaky Knee

It was probably Wheels on his union break!!!
Perhaps get a different bus to a stop that has a shelter…..and a cushiony seat ……. maybe a magazine or two……then, before you know it the fucking #1 chariot will pull up and take you to your prince charming.
gotta admit, most of the time metro transit really works… and the more I use it the better results I’m seeing….
but the days it doesn’t work, it’s a completely horrendous bloody douche pile of an infuriating mess.
Once, I caught a bus, transferred over seamlessly and made it from one end of the city to the other in 20 mins or so…. amazing and basically as fast as a car would have handled it.
Going home… that sucked over an hour and a half outta me with a missed connection, traffic alteration/diversion and just generally stupid, slow people on the road and in the god damn way.
ya have to flip the coin and try your luck at times.
I would rather wait for a bus then a cab any day 🙂 At least when they are 45 mins. late they waive the fee 🙂
?
I don’t think that’s true…
Just get your knee fixed – simple!
OB, buy a a walker off Kijiji and pretend you are disabled. Then call that Handicapp Metro Transit bus. I’ve heard it comes right to your house to pick you up. Otherwise, buy a car. You don’t get wet when you park it in your garage.
