Get back to work MP’s!!! You are wasting OUR TAX DOLLARS debating this “alleged” scandal. There are people jobless, homeless, and doctorless. The list goes on and on. I am sure if one were to tally up the money and time being wasted on this, it would be outrageously more than the dollar figures that were or weren’t taken. We voted you MP’s to run the government not waste time and money on this. You should get back to your respective employment and fix the real issues of this country. You are politicians not investigators. Let the RCMP do what they do and you go back to doing what you are supposed to do, run government and make our country better. —Who is stealing funds here anyways?
This article appears in Nov 7-13, 2013.

They’re using all the stall tactics known to man to allow them to gain enough time to collect pension checks at our expense.
once elected their sole purpose seems to be getting elected again. sigh. and again and again.
Now, now, don’t take Dullcair’s fun away from him.
What? Nobody thinks that its important for a government that was elected on a promise of “openness and accountability” is wrapped neck deep in a scandal involving payoffs to hide a caucus members THEFT OF YOUR FUCKIN MONEY? If you’re outraged that an MP (who wants to hold the government “ACCOUNTABLE” for their actions) wants answers and won’t take bullshit “move along, nothing to see here” as an answer, then you are an idiot and are outraged for the wrong reasons.
The reason this is happening is because a Conservative STOLE our money and, his buddies in the PMO tried to pay it off and cover it up, not because Canadians deserve answers. Shake your fucking head and lay blame where it should be laid. This is 100% at the feet of the PMO, nowhere else!!!
ahhh, I have to speak up here. my comment did NOT mean I agree with the harper staffer who wrote this posting.
my comment was just a general snark at most politicians written in haste between bread risings.
to follow op’s argument, the crime is dependant on amount taken? so if the tin man harper himself was caught stealing $10 from a poppy jar it would not be worth discussion in the house?
and how far can an investigation and revelation go before someone like op stops using the word ‘alleged’?
The BILLION DOLLAR power plant fiasco, complete with a lying Liberal government and hidden emails in Ontario is of no importance.
Uh, as a general rule of thumb, joeblow, PROVINCIAL government issues aren’t debated in the house of common, lol.
I gotta LOL at the folks who can’t tell the difference between provincial and federal politics. It ain’t THAT hard, yo.
There is confusion here.
OB- This scandal is not “alleged”, it’s a real scandal and exposes our PM and his Office doing unscrupulous things. I agree with you though, that the RCMP should complete their investigations first before PMO medalling, and that is, I believe, actually a part of the scandal.
Kyle- Stalling tactics weren’t giving anybody time to collect pensions.
Molly- The people in the Senate were not elected, and it’s a life-time gig.
Tim- Um. OK, “Dullcair”…..fair enough. That’s funny, but thank god we have someone on our side.
SH is Devil- Right on! Bang fucking on!
smee, there is confusion here. yes.
op was posting about the *elected* members of parliament spending time chewing on the senate scandal.
hence the comments about *elected* officials.
also, I would not advise ‘medalling’ our pm. he doesn’t deserve it.
Molly- I understand, good points, and sorry about the spelling error. Maybe we could create a special ‘deserving’ medal for Harper.
So we are to believe then, from your comment, that you think MP Dullclair’s motivation here is simply to get re-elected and this scandal inqusition is a waste of time as the OB is suggesting?
*my comment did NOT mean I agree*
*general snark at most politicians*
I do not say that it is not worth debating. It is… however… the amount of time ELECTED officials are spending regarding this is stupid and not responsible. Hit it up, toss it around a week, the public knows the story, finish. Let the police do what they do, if charges permit then let them charge and prosecution will prosecute. The MP’s need to work on some other more trying and pressing issues our country has.
Off to the Cenotaph ,now, folks. Whatever this day means to you, remember this. We all have the ability as individuals to rise to the better angels of our natures.

just back from services at my local legion. always amazed at the numbers of people who come.
Ditto. I live 10 minutes from Sullivans Pond and there’s always big numbers of people who go there on foot from the local neighborhoods. Lots of young folks , who always inspire in me the same sort of positive feelings I hoped to generate when I was their age, attending the services.
this story warmed me cockles http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-…
I used to live near Somme Legion in Dartmouth,it was something else watching the Veterans of all ages gather for the march to Sullivans Pond to the Cenotaph as the pipers played.
There was a very good pipe band today, WAC. Lone piper playing “Flowers of the Forest” as a Sea King flew over. Beautiful, chills up the spine moment.
