I swear, the majority of you that ride Metro Transit are self absorbed jerks. Is it so difficult for you to offer a seat to a woman that is 7 months pregnant? Sure you’ll offer a seat to the 40 year old woman standing in front of me who obviously didn’t have any problems with standing, while I’m here swaying where I stand because the bus is so humid and warm that it makes me dizzy. Thank you oh so much for making something that already has discomforts of it’s own more uncomfortable.
I shouldn’t have to wear a flashing sign that says I’m pregnant to be offered a seat, the Medicine Ball sized bump under my shirt should be enough.

Ok first let me say that yes i agree that pregnant and elderly or disabled people should be allowed to sit. I gladly move for these people when I can. However I would like to say a large FUCK YOU to these people who are pregnant and or in need of a seat that ask me to move and berate me when I don’t I may not look disabled but I have a degenerative bone disorder that some days doesn’t allow me to walk let alone stand on a bus.. So deal with your fat pregnancy for those of you who MAKE THE CHOICE TO BE PREGNANT and as for the old bitch the other day that proceeded to STAND and berate me I hope you felt horrible when you saw me stand up with my cane and get off the bus that the driver so nicely lowered for me.. Not all of you deserve what you thin you do
schysta, you totally riuned your ‘handicapped’ argument with your statement….”so deal with your fat pregnancy….” Dude, your lack of sympathy for others won’t earn you any in return. Being kind doesn’t always have to involve you giving up your seat….You could actually speak to the woman with something like “I would give you my seat if I could…” maybe then someone around you would take the hint and give up their seat.
WOW lori I never would have thought of being NICE! WOW what a fucking concept. If only people in halifax were as nice and kind as that and would actually give a fuck if you were nice,,, I have tried this and been ridiculed and berated not helped and been befriended as you seen to think should happen. wake up its not a nice world out there. i have tried but what can i say its halifax.
Ya, your right! Fuck everyone!
You are right on the money. Same goes for those twenty-something fuckwads who sit in those seats reserved for seniors and disabled folks and won’t give them up, especially when there is a standing load. Bloody shame.
On the flip side, I’m only 23 and am preggers and I get dirty looks when I sit in those reserved seats. I guess people don’t notice that I’m pregnant or think that because I’m young I don’t deserve to sit there, even though standing causes quite a bit of pain and discomfort after a while. Oh, and I would never ask a person to give me their seat, that’s just rude. And when I didn’t have a beach-ball belly I would give up my seat for the elderly, handicapped, or for parents who get on the bus with small children. But I guess to hope that the kindness that I’ve shown others would be returned is just naive since so many people nowadays only care about themselves and their own comfort.
