We’ve got a city full of people who can’t drive. Allstate has declared this burg has THE WORST DRIVERS IN CANADA!!!! Or walk properly without being consumed by their cell phones. Now they want to let loose a bunch of impatient idiots on Segways driving up and down Spring Garden Road? Downtown Halifax just got crossed off my list for places to go. —City Council: WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING?

Don’t come; we don’t want you.
I don’t expect to see the average person commuting on one of these. Secure parking at the destination will be an issue. And if you can stand maybe walking or cycling is a healthier choice.
I don’t want hordes of tourists ploughing through crowds on the sidewalk or clogging up the roads. Especially since they will not likely be spending any money dining or shopping while doing it.
I don’t want parking enforcement staff to be using them to hand out tickets even faster and more aggressively.
I guess I just don’t get it. Who is asking for this other than maybe a few tour group operators? Who will benefit? I see only unnecessary congestion and really dumb, lazy devices.
Oh good, another group of entitled twats that will be jockeying for position in our already overcrowded downtown core. With a price tag of nearly $9000, at least I’ll know I can sue their ass when they smash into the side of my car while texting.
