Your Review Of Garrett Mason’s new cd was expected (because of the total lack of support that the coast has shown Garrett’s career) But also shown how grossly uninformed you are … Pink Flamingo’s sounds nothing like anything Stevie ray ever did. this guy is an unbelievable talent in our area that gets no respect; which is well know to his friends and also told in the lyrics of his songs, if you hadn’t been so quick to decide the “throw away” lyrics were not to the normal likes of all the bullshit folk bands in this city, (that always get such sparkling reviews) then perhaps the review would have gone differently. On a final note i’m sure it will once again take Garrett winning another Juno award for his own city to wake up and see what they have in there own backyard.. Thanks coast for continually making me an even more bitter person

Have to totally agree with the op. If anyone that reads this has not been to one of Garrett’s shows at Bearly’s you are missing something magical. For anyone who truly understands good music (like the folks at Bearly’s do), Garrett’s shows cook like no other. Unfortunately, this paper and some of it’s readers, are obsesses with glorifying lame-ass, pretentious, and self-absorbed “jam”bands who couldn’t hold a candle to Garrett’s guitar playing and signing. Please! If you haven’t seen him yet, go to his next show at Monty’s in November and I swear he will make a believer out of all of you.
No man, its all about freaky ghost bee chicks and feist. Leave the jam bands out of this.
What about pants? Who hates pants?
I hate pants!!!!stupid pants *grumble grumble*
I am surprised they bothered talking about garrett at all, since he isn’t some random “indie” band we’ve never heard of like all the other reviews. That being said, I don’t even waste my time reading the music reviews. If i wanted to know some random opinion of a band, id ask joe blow on the street. If i want a real music review, i listen to the music.
so the point of reviews is to say you like it, even if you dont? I get it. So if the reviewer geniunely doesnt like the album, they should give it a good review anyways?
