FFS! When you’re booking an appt GET YOUR SCHEDULE OUT. I’m so sick of people stalling and stuttering for five minutes…obviously you need to know when you’re available so why on EARTH can’t you figure it out ahead of time. Nine out of 10 phone conversations:
“When would you like to come in?”
“…………Uh……………………………mmm………….just a sec…………………………………uuuuuuuuuhhh…” [5 minutes later] “…How about blah blah?”

mmmmmmmmm…………… yeah………………..
I think I’ll reply to this one………………………
gimme 10 mins.
Well, what about when I phone and say I’d like to come in tomorrow at 2:00 and all I get is “Nope, not available.” And then I try “Well, let’s see maybe the next day at 11:00?” “Nope, he’s never available on Wednesday mornings.” So I try “Friday at 3:00?” “Nope, we will be closed early. Try again.”
How about YOU offer a bit of help and let me know generally what IS and ISN’T available and we’ll start from there?
I’m busy too, and don’t have time to play random guessing games every time I try to book an appointment.
haha… amen RubyJane… how often are we actually able to get an appointment when it is good for us ANYWAY? (unless we wait a few weeks, when whatever we need the apt for is irrelevant anyway) Um….. not that I ever need appointments….. cause there is nothing wrong with me….. or i don’t go get my hair done…..
I usually do the whole “I’m available tuesday morning, wednesday after noon and thursday evening” and then let them pick a spot. Seems to work for me. Although I do agree with Rubyjane.
I agree with Rubyjane 110%!
It might take me a second to figure out if I can come in given the fact that I may need to process what you’ve said — I mean, I KNOW I’m free at 4pm, for example, on Tuesdays, but I’m not sure if that gives me enough time to get to your office from SMU….y’know?
However, I will say that I do always give a guideline of when I’d like to book an appointment. I’ll usually say “mondays or tuesday evenings?” or something like that. Still. Rubyjane’s probably more accurate in most situations.
i ah um know what you ah mean, maybe ah, you should like ah um worry about your ah um er self.
aw damn, I missed my reply.
when are you free to sync up?
hahaha, Indeed.
This OP cearly doen’t work somewhere busy – asking the customer “when they’d like to ome in…”
Sounds like they work wher they hardly get any customers at all, in fact…which is it?
Homeopathic medicine or pet massage?
