To the rude ass people who cannot say thank you when I hold the fucking door for you: Yes, you, hockey mother with your rude little kid with his hockey gear. I am nice enough to wait and hold out the door for both your and your kid only to have you not have the common coutersy to hold the door for me. To all your rude people who have no manners, who cannot say thank you when I hold a door give me a dirty look when I do not hold open the next door. I am sick of all you and sometimes when I say your welcome you look at me with this fucking dumb look on your face. Fuck off, learn some goddam manners and don’t wonder why a door was not held open for you the next time.

True dat! Courtesy is not common. And Halifax’s rep as a friendly city is sinking quickly. Everyone’s too self-involved to give a shit anymore. Sad. Now we can be all grown up and rude like the people we see on TV. Le sigh.

Could not agree more. I still hold the door open for someone, not to expect a thank you but because that is who I am…
I look at it like tipping, don’t start expecting that 15% and acting like an entitled jackass. Just be pleasantly surprised when it (a thank you) does happen.
