It’s 2pm on Saturday and instead of being able to relax and listen to some soothing music such as Sigur Ros, Quinpool Road seems to be overtaken by some band. While I am all for independent local bands, perhaps one playing this loud, at this location, should at least be talented. And if their off-key, loud ‘music’ isn’t enough, one can also indulge in the incessant car alarms said music seems to activate. Who authorized this?

Sigur Ros?
They’re Icelandic. Kinda like a very chill Bjork.
I seen Sigur Ros live a few years ago, truly amazing. Small Theatre too so I was only a couple rows away.
ahh
Color me jealous, ad. I’d love to hear some of their earlier whale-music-like stuff from Agaetis Birjun live. As well my current fave, track 8 from the untitled album. that would be mind-blowing.
im guessing it was the summer sonic at the hill.maybe some people consider sigur ros off-key, untalented loud ‘music’. ever thought of that? just because you dont like the music, does not make it ‘music’. and, oh i know exactly what sigur ros sound like. and i also know, that 90% of their fans have no clue that RS are not nearly as original as they think they are. bands have been doing similar (and sometimes better) soundscapes in various forms since the 70s. dont get me wrong, SR are quite good, but IMO (key concept here) not the best post-rock around.tonality has nothing to do with the quality of music. neither does loudness. nor the technical skill of the musicians.next time, before you flame someone else’s taste of music, keep in mind that maybe your taste in music is not any better than anyone else’s. a taste is a taste, and not a fact.
