To the jaywalking mother who felt the need to dramatically wag her finger and yell at me when I didn’t stop for her: when you walk out suddenly from behind a bus, don’t expect me to see you in time to stop. Had I stopped abruptly to let you finish crossing, I would have actually put you and your cute little son at risk because there were other cars coming up behind me that could have rear ended me right into you and your child. Aside from the novel idea of looking both ways before you cross the street, if you really cared about the safety of your son perhaps you should have considered walking 30 seconds out of your way to the nearest crosswalk.

The extent of your over-exaggerated (actually, uncalled-for) reaction would be the equivalent to me calling Child Protection Services for the vulgar names and words you exposed your little cutie to as you were screaming at me. Hmm, on second thought… 🙂—Don’t blame me for your retarded ass

  1. another dummy in action bitch. you gotta love these fucking morons who think a ton of metal or more can stopon a dime, and no one getting hurt. next time, i hope to fuck they are roadkill.

  2. Although I sympathize with pedestrians I don’t think many of them REALLY get the concept of I CAN KILL YOU. I also think that everyonce should do a kind of driving awareness course in high school or something. Many people simply do not realize that drivers can’t see everyting. We can’t see through metal (the huge bus), nor round corners. Cars can’t stop instantly, and we can’t read your mind! I friggin hate when ppl are standing on the corner staring into the distance like they’re waiting to turn tricks and then just step into the road. You’d make nice hood ornaments …

  3. Unfortunately, Halifax (and NS in general) drivers encourage this kind of thing. Why do so many drivers insist on stopping and waving pedestrians across at NON-intersections or crosswalks?

This is a huge epidemic in NS. I don’t get it. Drivers seem to think this a courteous thing to do. No. Just stick to the rules of the road and everybody will be better off.

Being a nice guy and stopping mid-street to wave me across is not doing me a favour. It only confuses other drivers, fucks up traffic flow, and encourages people to jaywalk more.

If I am standing on the sidewalk mid-block looking like I want to cross, just keep driving! I will wait for a break in traffic to make my move. DON’T stop and wave jaywalkers across! It is dangerous!

  4. I very rarely stop for jay walkers. Much better to narrowly miss them and teach them a lesson.

  5. well there are a few more ‘targets’ there so I would imagine it would be easier to pick people off…. and likely many more cars doing the picking as well.
