So, I guess if you work for the HRM and are given a truck to drive around in all day, you do not have to follow the rules of the road like every other average citizen?
Just happened to have the pleasure of following a HRM truck this AM for about 8KM, watched the driver spit out the window at least 10 times, flicked a butt out the window. Also the driver seemed to have no need to use the turn signal in the stupid truck and even race through a yellow light.
Hope my taxes go up in the New Year to send this driver on some driver training.

  1. I watched a cop put his lights on at an intersection, speed through the red, pass another guy in a car, and then turn the lights off and stop at the next4-way stop.
    I mean, is waiting at a red THAT fucking bad that you have to abuse your ‘power’?

    I guess if you are given a vehicle by the HRM, you can do whatever the fuck you want on the roads here…..

  2. Almost everyday for years (around 10 a.m.), I would see a city truck with 2 guys pull up into the parking lot across from my house and they would sit (and sleep) there until lunch time. (This bitch made me realize they haven’t been around since last year.)

  3. HKM ever hear of a camera ? You had two years chance to do this . Winnipeg city workers where pictured sleepin in their truck on a pull off and published in the free press years back – yea works wonders – they lost their job and new rules where instituted . And also makes the city workers aware that they can and will be photographed in the said offenses described by posters. Take a video guys and pictures and get them to the dailys first and then bitch to the proper *cough cough * proper authority . And yea i am saying they have to follow same rules as us .

  4. ~8~ It happens everyday and the City is basicly powerless to stop it, God love unions.

    I’m not anti-union but some unions allow to much abuse with taxpayers money, Unions representing workers in the private sector can’t do the same shit. City unions have your money to abuse. Its not just in HRM, Toronto is 10 times worse

  5. LOL Citizen Cane, Are you sure you saw him throw a butt, City has a no smoking rule in thier trucks…{i say with tounge in cheek}

  6. I was stuck behind a Metro Transit supervisor’s vehicle on Dunbrack last night. He was doing 40 and driving down the middle of the the two lanes.

  7. ah, joints are ok… but don’t you dare be smoking that evil tabacco.
    half the downtown shops are less than 16 feet (5 metres) from the road and thus you’ll be breaking the law hundreds of times…

  8. I love the HRM “By-Law Enforcement” trucks. Like it’s for people who wanted to be cops, but failed cop college.

    “Hey! FREEZE mother fucker! You’re not allowed to place that sign there, and I measured it the other day and it doesn’t meet HRM By-Law S-800, requiring signs to be no greater than five feet by four feet and placed no closer than three feet from the curb. I’ll let you off with a warning this time, but don’t let me see that sign again, OK?”
