I just moved to the North End and every weekday morning there is a cloud of, what I can only determine to be, burnt coffee around North and Robie. I don’t understand why it keeps happening. Am I missing something?

  1. Whatever it is, it sure beats the smell of the Oland Brewery up near the Hydrostone! Although I would definitely cry if it ever closed – I’ll take the very, very good with the slightly bad.

  2. I live nearby and don’t care too much for the smell, but their coffee is pretty decent so whatevs. Don’t think the stench of burning corpses has anything to do with it but I could be wrong.

  3. That’s not burning its roasting.that’s the smell of real coffee, fair trade organic goodness roasted by a true craftsman in small batches. Its a family business that wholesales coffee all over. If you have ever gone to a coffee shop or restaurant and really loved the coffee, you probably found one of their customers.

  4. I live in that ‘hood, too and it can be a bit heavy some mornings… but its only COFFEE, so its a non-problem. I work on the waterfront and I can ONLY WISH that the harbour smelled like coffee.
